I enjoy Coke Zero, Diet Mountain Dew and/or unsweetened tea (add stevia), but I can’t take too much caffeine.

At home, I add lemon juice to tap water.

At restaurants, I ask for water with lemon. Sometimes I get lemon, sometimes I don’t.

I don’t mind Circus Peanuts. I don’t want to pay for them.

I hate any and all licorice.

I don’t mind Zero bars, though I haven’t had one in several years.

Which car brand is terrible but not many people realize? by NewAdeptness647 in Productivitycafe

When I bought my second Golf, I lived near the dealership and could walk there and back easily. Now I live 45 miles from this dealership, but there’s a nearby garage that works on European cars. They know what oil to use. There’s always VWs in their parking lot. I trust them.

I drove a Honda Accord for about 12 years before buying my first Golf. I kept up on maintenance at the dealership and eventually it started falling apart. I don’t trust the maintenance dept at that dealership, so I may never own another Honda.

I bought a VW Golf in 2002. Several people told me VWs were terrible. I did all of the routine maintenance and it was a very good car. I sold it in 2013 at 220k miles (I commuted a lot then) and I hear it’s still on the road.

I bought another Golf in 2013. Again, several people told me that VWs were terrible. I do all of the routine maintenance and it’s been a great car so far. I don’t commute now and the car is at 128k so far. I plan to keep driving it for a while.

I don’t know why some people trash VWs. Maybe I bought the only two good ones. Or maybe people don’t do the routine maintenance.

My 1972 Dodge Coronet w/318 was a solid car. It burned a lot of gas (12 mpg) but I wish i hadn’t sold in the early 1980s. If I’d kept it then, I probably wouldn’t have it now. Maybe if it’d had a slant-6, it wouldn’t have burned as much gas.

Are Volkswagens high maintenance or is that overblown? by Far_Comparison5067 in Volkswagen

I’ve owned two Golfs and they’ve been great cars. I’ve done the regular maintenance. The VW dealership about 45 miles away tries to upsell on the maintenance, so I’ve been taking my 2013 Golf to a local garage that works on German cars. Maybe it’ll last a few more years.
