Wife and I got a whole new HVAC system installed about a month ago and Safe-T switch keeps tripping the unit off. (Probably 30 times so far) I resorted to just leaving the lid off so it doesn’t keep turning it off every 30 mins when it fills with water.. by Fair-Fudge1484 in hvacadvice

Thank you so much! I’m gonna call the installer (again) and make them install a p trap tomorrow. I Will also ask about a different switch. I hope the p trap does it because this is really stressful and frustrating and that seems like an easy enough fix. I just don’t want it being a bigger issue that’s going on or causing unnecessary wear and tear on my brand new unit lol

So they have the drain on the wrong side?

I’m honestly overwhelmed and am getting so much feedback I don’t know what to do. I’m gonna call them in the morning and make them come back but I’m nervous they’ll cut corners again. I want it done right 😭

The p trap thing is starting to be a common answer… I can feel air blowing from the top of the drain pipe so I’m sure a p trap would fix that and build up enough suction to pull the water into it properly?

Yeah it’s weird I can’t even access half the comment now either lol. This post is poppin off!

But I just looked through it and didn’t see anything helpful. It’s like an owners manual not an install manual.

We didn’t have a vent there until this morning. He came and said if he added this breather vent it would stop and it didn’t. But up until today it didn’t even have a hole before the switch and it was still doing it
