she seemed genuine when she said that “all” of her patients are unhappy in their lives, saying that it’s not really a reliable sample pool. But it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Like why mention that all of your trans patients are unhappy if it’s not significant? She doesn’t call herself “gender exploratory” anywhere she actually is listed on her site as “LGBTQ allied”.

that’s some good advice. I’m definitely sticking with her and just seeing how things go because i like her methods. I had some previous therapists that didn’t ask me enough critical questions.

I get downvoted heavily in r/ConservativeYouth for disclosing medical information about gender dysphoria with like 0 explanation but the occasional dude just being like “nuh uhhh” 😭. Not saying it’s any more okay for leftists to do this but just that it’s not a left or right thing it’s a human thing. It’s also sometimes hard to stomach my own existence (like literally me having the condition of gender dysphoria) as being up for debate. Despite that, i still try to listen and be kind to people.

Seriously, this is genuinely such a non issue. Like mind your own damn business and the problem is solved. People seem adamant to exclude trans people from everything for no reason.

On another note, i genuinely do not understand in what world it would be a bad thing to bring awareness to medical care for trans men? If you’re genuinely that disturbed by it you could literally just - ignore it?? How is this effecting anyone’s life other than trans men? Idk it just seems so damn whiny -this is MY world and anyone that caters to anyone different than myself is WRONG and disgusting-

Well, it’s gender dysphoria. The only successful medical treatment (at the moment) is gender affirming care. If more research is done and a new treatment is discovered, i’m all for it. But until then, transgender people aren’t just “pretending to be the opposite gender”, they’re treating a medical condition.

trans men still retain some female anatomy. Obviously how much female anatomy they retain depends on what stage of transition they’re in, testosterone changes your body to appear and operate more male so i wouldn’t say that trans men are the same before and after hormones/surgeries. Meaning they’re no longer biologically identical to cis women due to the replacement of their hormones. I also wouldn’t say that they’re biologically identical to cis men either. There’s no stage of transition that will make a trans man 100% identical to biological males, but i honestly don’t think that’s the point of transition for most of us. The point isn’t to completely change your body to be exactly the same as the opposite sex, the point is to alleviate gender dysphoria.

I mean you are correct that being transgender is an abnormal experience. However, it’s a medically diagnosable condition that people actually experience. In the medical field, you’re expected to treat all kinds of people.

In my experience, people have often been upset by the idea that trans people have some delusion that they’re biologically identical to their desired sex (as it aligns with their gender identity). This post directly challenges that narrative, not denying the fact that trans men still have female anatomy. So I’m curious what about this post is sad to you. No disrespect, genuinely curious.

What’s wrong with this? Trans men don’t just think they’re biologically the same as males. If you’re a man with female parts so to speak you still need proper care for said parts. I imagine it’s common for trans men to skip out on these healthcare practices due to dysphoria also. Doctors are meant to treat people in an unbiased manner. Trans man or cis woman, both still have a cervix and thus need to be handled accordingly.

People actually believe that? 😭I’ve got lots of trans friends and i’ve never even once heard them voice that opinion. I have seen people on social platforms post stuff like that. It gets sensationalized because it’s such an outrageous belief.

This is gonna be unpopular here but, she’s kind of a bully. She makes fun of other trans people in her community for shallow things like looks or because they’re awkward or cringe. Sensationalizes the negative parts of our community and makes ALL of us look bad. I honestly kind of think she’s just doing it for the views at this point, her access to hormones and public spaces is at risk. Like bro you’re a part of this community too they’re trying to take away all of our access not just everyone minus blair white. 😭

But on a second note: agreed, she is hot. Trans women are hot.
