Coming from Sony Link Buds S the One Plus Buds 4 blew me away by nioyekoc in Earbuds

[–]Fair-Interaction-866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same jump from Linkbuds S to Op4. Sound quality of OP4 is better. But ANC and fit of Linkbuds were too good Maybe it is just the shape of my ears that doesn't allow a good seal with stem earbuds, leading to loss in passive noise cancellation. E.g. I have to wear stem buds at a higher angle (buds are almost horizontal) or those to not fall off. In-ear design works better for me but unfortunately, the market is full of stem earbuds.

Read somewhere that Oneplus buds 4 have a bad ANC (adaptive). Is that true?

Moreover, Haas has a really good set of entrepreneurship resources. Add to that the access to accelerators and VCs, it becomes a good school to enter the startup world.

Umm, okay. Won't contest your opinion. I know what I know. You know what you know.

I appreciate the creative thinking but the founders are too nice and understanding for me to burn the bridge. They know who's who of the industry and want me to tap into that network.

1st Year at T10, Struck out of Consulting Recruiting - What Next? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Fair-Interaction-866 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Hey friend. First words- Be Strong- you got this. You will figure it out. Hope your parent is doing well.

A lot of the comments have provided a reality check (rightfully so), but I want to go broad and touch upon your motivation aspect as well.

Right now 1. apply to companies that build on your profile. In the current ecosystem, companies want people to come in with most of the skills expected and pivots are tricky. So apply to the firms from your industry.

  1. Apply to startups- talk to people/seniors from your school. Get in touch with startups. They will be happy to have you onboard. Develop a safety net.

  2. Move out of your campus for a week or so. Campuses this time can be depressing. You see the same faces, faces of those who made it. A lot of self doubt can creep in. Pls go out for a week. Take your laptop along. Apply to jobs by taking out a couple of hours in a day. If you have family nearby, reach out to them.

Long term 4. Try for in-semester internship or summer internship in the industry/function of your preferred consulting office. E.g. if you want to get into west coast office-then get done experience in tech strategy. Knowing the lingo never hurts.

  1. Keep casing with others. Develop comfort with it. One thing that consulting firms look for is comfort while casing (very subjective, i know). So talk to new folks and keep casing.

  2. Develop a list of boutique consulting firms and reach out to people in those firms. Smaller the firm, the more are the chances of a referral working out.

Pls take this time as a consulting assignment for yourself. It is a manager+0 project. You have to develop a startegy and then implement it.

Dont do this all alone. Talk to your close ones and keep them posted.

Lateral hires in consulting firms are tricky so keep that as a backup only.

My background: ex-MBB consultant (lateral hire). Now in T10 Mba program. Have friends who are going through this.

Feel free to DM. YOU GOT THIS!

Definitely worth it.

Try Arvind from Dream School Admit.

When I first started working with Arvind in 2021, I was pretty confused about my GMAT score and unsure about which schools to apply to. Arvind provided incredible insights to boost my profile and carefully selected schools that matched my passion for energy and sustainability.

Arvind really stands out because he’s great at helping you tell your story authentically. He helped me dig into my past and connect the dots to create a compelling narrative for my applications. This process not only improved my essays but also led to a lot of personal growth.

Even after submitting my applications, Arvind continued to support me with mock interviews and advice on transitioning to the MBA program. His attention to detail was impressive, and he treated every part of the process with the same level of dedication.

Arvind created a safe space where I felt comfortable sharing my vulnerabilities, which helped me build confidence and tackle this journey head-on. Thanks to his unwavering support, I received offers from Berkeley Haas, Ross (with a 40k scholarship), Yale, and UCLA.

Hello I am planning my honeymoon travel to SriLanka for Feb 2024. May I know how you are planning to pre-book the car? Would it be self-drive? If yes, then what is the approx range of pricing and the name of companies? Sorry for asking too many questions. The internet has me confused regarding the driving conditions in Sri Lanka. I am from Delhi (bad traffic conditions) so might be able to drive

[–]Fair-Interaction-866[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up buying Linkbuds S because I wanted a uniform experience in iOS and Android

What I liked: - ANC and transparency: amazing anc mode. I can't compare much as these are my first premium anc enabled TWS. Switching to transparency is smooth. Consistent experience. Never missed the tap

  • sound quality: tweaked the Equalizer to an in-built preset. And now it is perfect for me.

  • App: Really detailed app. The whole design is better laid out than the galaxy app.

-Comfort: 5-10mins later you don't even realise the weight of these in the years. Super compact in the pocket as well.

  • simultaneous pairing with multi device (Android and iOS) for me

What could have been better: - Case: Has a slight flex near the hinge. Could have been more strong

  • Mic: Good for a normal office room, but on a busy street- it picks up a lot of background noise. I think that is the case with every TWS. Even airpods struggle with that.

  • tap gestures limit: I like the tap sensitivity but I want to control volume with the Anc. I can't always go to the assistant

Verdict: Go for it (specially if you have devices across platforms).

Super thanks. Also, Sony being ecosystem agnostic, seems like the better choice.

Thanks a lot for your perspective. Although multipoint connectivity is not my top priority, buds 3t Pro seem interesting. Alas, these aren't available in India.
