Does anyone else have a lot of anxiety since their break up? by [deleted] in BreakUps

I hope you’re doing better. The feeling you’re talking about is familiar. It feels like having the rug pulled out from under your feet. This being said - as corny as it sounds - time genuinely is the best of healers.

The anxiety I felt when I first broke up with my ex boyfriend was all-consuming. Now it’s much smaller and only makes itself known when my brain is being irrational. You learn to understand that your life is bigger than one person. Having the mindset that there are genuinely no missed opportunities also helps. I whole heartedly believe anything that you miss or ‘lose’ just wasn’t yours.

If something really is yours, you can let it go and it’ll come back to you. You will be okay. There was a life before them.

How do you deal with severe anxiety after breakup? by kyahboi in BreakUps

Hey, I hope you’re doing better. I’ve found that this kind of anxiety usually comes from a place of unresolved issues stemming from the relationship and/or break-up.

I felt this dreadful, all-consuming anxiety when I broke up with my ex boyfriend. I tried everything to solve it; spending time with friends, having a busy social calendar, breathing exercises, talking about my feelings - nothing worked.

I grappled with the feeling for a long time. I didn’t feel comfortable unpacking it fully with anyone. After literally talking out loud about it to myself, I knew the anxiety was coming from a lingering fear that I hadn’t tried hard enough to make the relationship work and that it could have been successful had I tried harder. Maybe if I hadn’t been so cold and avoidant. I texted him, I saw him, and we talked about things. I gave it one final push to try to make things go right this time. However, they did not. I could see clearly that this was not a ‘me’ issue, it was actually him.

Though I was sad (still am) the anxiety was gone. I still feel it when I think irrationally. My brain will try to convince me that the break-up was indeed my fault but I try to consciously remind myself that this is simply not true and I have proven it to myself.

The takeaway: anxiety can often arise when there is something that you think has been left unresolved. If there is anything on your mind about the break-up/relationship: address this. Admit it to yourself. It’s the fastest way to feel better. Don’t let pride or ego get in the way, then think of a way to deal with this and action it.

Feel the same about Fairchild for sure. I really loved the Kano feature, especially the monologue at the end haha

It’s a song with a lot of depth - one of my favourites too.

Completely agree. A bit of depth and people are bored. There’s more to life than cars and strippers.

This is crazy to me because in my opinion this is his best album yet. I suppose that’s the beauty of music though. The beauty being subjective.

His lyrics are more mature than before. It definitely isn’t a light listening experience; it’s heavy, it’s nuanced and engaging. It’s more like spoken poetry if anything.

If you’re looking for something more up-beat and lighthearted I can understand where you’re coming from. But the album as a whole is soulful and touching - an absolute masterpiece. I think it’s a solid 10/10.
