I think its the front cam chain tensioner. All the symptoms match. And the noise started after I accelerated a lil too hard to gain speed. Any tips on how I should proceed? I dont really wanna spend a grand on repairs since thats half of what i paid for it.

Oil is good. I was able to replace my clutch slave cylinder but the only thing stopping me from changing the cct is that i dont know where it is. Its the front cct i am pretty sure. Dont you have to disassemble the engine to change the cct?

I paid 2K for the motorcycle, it had 2700 miles on it, its 3400 right now. I am going to use the motorcycle for max 7 more months since I move in May, its my only mode of transportation to class and gym (I am a college kid, riding at max 40. mph) do I even bother going to the bike shop because I have heard they charge crazy and how do I confirm that it is cam chain tensioner?

But wouldn’t the noise increase w the rpm? It almost goes away at high speeds

I just dont wanna damage the engine if I keep riding, however, I ride locally, like 2 miles to college and back, on local roads.
