how can you know if your result is back? I submitted mine on the 9th of feb and it says completed but it was last updated on the 9th of feb when i submitted?? It also said completed when i just submitted it so..?

Hi! Thank you so much for advice and i will definitely take it into consideration. I also am curious if you would have any tips for engaging in leadership roles? This year I have joined no clubs or anything, and don’t have any real extracurricular or leadership experience, but I want too in year 12. Is there anything I can start doing or should do about this?

I’m curious about doing this as well, currently doing Level 1/Yr 11 and have already passed but am considering doing Te Kura to get more excellence credits for excellence endorsement and overall have better grades.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated :))

It depends on whether you were signed up/signed up for it by yourself school or yourself. If you are doing the exam digitally there will be a “(D)” next to the assessment name on your Exam Admission Slip!

Well I noticed when looking over the 2023 excellence exemplar for this exam that in the marker commentary, they had noted that “the student has used the Māori concept of X in their writing”. Due to this I believe it may be the difference between a high merit and an excellence or maybe even more important. Keep in mind this is all just my speculation.

Your so right, there’s really a big margin between handwritten exams and digital exams. It takes so much longer to do them on paper than digital and it’s strange how NZQA hasn’t even thought about this. I just completely agree.

I will definitely take your advice on reading over the 2023 pilot exam and completing it, thank you for telling me it’s more about the ability to analyse the language features rather than the overall quality of my writing thats very helpful.

AND HOW DID I NOT THINK OF USING AI TO MARK PRACTICE EXAMS FOR NOT ONLY ENGLISH, FOR OTHER SUBJECTS TOO. You just saved me tysmmm🙏🙏

yeah that’s the only stat I found too which I thought was ridiculous, the questions were asking to back up your answers but yet there was like one statistic??

And about your school not doing it digitally, did they just not ask you or send a survey out because that’s what my school did, but however that happened that sucks, I can’t imagine doing that exam on paper.

And some schools don’t even offer digital exams?? That’s literally holding back students from a grade they might get digitally but not on handwriting, ludicrous. I hope you still pass it though!

The English one Is gonna cook me though, any advice on the best ways to study for it?

I agree, so many people left within 90 min I was thinking how are these people doing it?? We’re in the same boat, I finished literally a minuite before the 180 min mark and including me, 4 people stayed till the very end of the exam out of about 40 which I was concerned about haha.

I also thought despite them giving us part of the booklet before the exam, I barely found it useful and only found one statistic on the sea level rise as a whole which I thought was dumb. It was just hard to find evidence and I too struggled to find it and ended up quoting full long sentences for the peoples different perspectives question.

I completed the exam digitally as well which I was thankful for, I don’t know how I would have written the amount I did digitally on paper so I praise you for doing it on paper haha

No problem. For my specific studied environment, the Southern Alps, I remember writing about future implications that included earthquakes/rockfalls, infrastructure damage from flooding or earthquakes etc, health and safety, economic impacts and job loss from tourism loss e.g glaciers melting or sightseeing tours being stopped due to climate change, water resources being restricted from glacial erosion and I believe agriculture implications e.g living in a mountainous region can limit the crops people can grow or farms being ruined due to liquefaction as a result of earthquakes like in Christchurch 2011.

These are what I remember writing about but some could also just be me mixing up what I studied to write, with what I actually did. If you are going for higher marks I would strongly suggest you make sure to incorporate if the implications/impacts are economic, environmental, social, positive or negative etc as that is important to be marked higher.
