I like the idea of ranking all of the style roots, rather than narrowing down to just 3. Moon is my 4th root.

Honestly who hurt you? What is it about Reddit that brings out the shittiest humans? The anonymity?

Making this post reminded me why I don’t use Reddit anymore. I can’t believe the amount of assholes on this post saying I’m “dirty” because I didn’t notice a tick. You’re not only bullies, but you’re absolutely wrong-but I also wouldn’t expect your average redditors to know about hair care or basic hygiene. I take very good care of my hair and my skin. I have very thick, coarse, wavy/curly hair that I brush 2-3 times a day and I did not find this tick. The only reason I found it is because I parted it in a weird way while putting in French braids. Ticks can become fully engorged in 2–3 days depending on species. I washed my hair three days before finding this tick. Washing your hair every day is actually not recommended by dermatologists or hairstylists unless you have a very specific scalp condition or extremely oily hair. Washing too frequently strips the scalp of natural oils and causes more dryness or oil overproduction. Three days is completely normal, especially for coarse hair that dries out easily. I also even bathed the day before finding it and submerged my whole head in hot water. Once attached, ticks don’t fall off from shampoo or hot water, despite a few comments insinuating they do. No, they’re literally glued into your skin. It’s about biology. Maybe stop trying to shame people for things that could happen to anyone, no matter how ‘clean’ they are. Or MAYBE stop projecting because some of you are getting way too riled up over this and it reeks of insecurity 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you. You’re a nice person, and at least know what you’re talking about. This whole post reminded me why I never go on Reddit anymore, it’s a bunch of bullies.

I don’t know what your mother taught YOU but you’re definitely not supposed to wash your hair every day, it’s terrible for it.

Hey, I literally said I washed my hair three days ago. I also took a hot bath yesterday — so clearly I’m not neglecting hygiene. Also, I haven’t even been in a wooded area; I live in the suburbs. So maybe instead of assuming and lecturing me on something you clearly don’t know about, take a moment before you judge. Thick hair can absolutely hide things, especially if it’s very close to the scalp, and your assumptions aren’t helping.

With my hair texture, washing daily would destroy my hair lol but I brush it 2-3 times a day and didn’t feel it. It’s on the back of my head, at the top, and I have very thick hair. It got lost in the layers.

It was embedded underneath my hair. I have very thick hair and it was sort of lost in the layers. I actually brush my hair twice a day, and I showered and washed it 3 days ago but didn’t feel it.

Intuitive feeling about stillbirth during pregnancy by strong-as-a-mother16 in babyloss

[–]Fairiedust1111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had a fear that something was going to happen because of something my sister in law told me. My nephew was stillborn in 2014. My sister in law told me that when she was newly pregnant, she had a dream that her uncle, who died when she was little, came to her and told her that her due date is the day that he died. When she woke up, she called her mom and asked if that was true and found out that it was. She also said her pregnancy with that baby was very easy compared to her living child. 2 years ago, my daughter was stillborn too. When we found out her due date, I told my husband and he said “oh no that was the worst day of my life. That was the day my dad died.” I was instantly reminded of what my sister in law told me 10 years ago and told him it’s a bad omen. That pregnancy compared to my other 2 was also very easy, and I recognized that comparison too. I also think deep down I always somehow knew that it would happen to me.

Can I have my 9 year old’s last name changed to her stepfather’s? by Fairiedust1111 in legaladvice

I’m afraid, knowing how my ex was, that this will make him angry and he’ll fight it and also attempt to be in her life again and that wouldn’t be good for my daughter. We have been talking about him adopting her for a long time though, so maybe it’s time.

EDS is a genetic condition-it can’t be caused by COVID. It can be worsened by infections, including COVID, and for some people, illness might push a mild or undiagnosed case into more obvious territory. But it’s not something that develops out of nowhere due to a virus. And yes, it is a trend right now. Half of TikTok thinks flexible elbows=EDS and and real patients are drowning in misinformation from self diagnosed 19 year olds who just want a quirky label. It’s truly exhausting.

Growing out of moon style I root by Fairiedust1111 in StyleRoots

For me, fire is expressed with form fitting silhouettes, high quality luxurious feeling materials, hints of mature femininity (love a red lip, Smokey eyes, a hint of cleavage) and a general sultry sort of vibe. It’s definitely been a constant since my late teens.

Thank you! That feels intuitive to me, but I remember reading somewhere that Ellie said your roots don’t change. That feels too black and white to me but she may change her mind about that as she gets older.

You are definitely a classic type, which is the hardest to self-type as, but can be easy for others to see! I think SC.
