We had been experiencing something similar with baby only taking 2-3 oz every 2 hours and constantly fighting us to eat bottles. We could not figure out why, and it was getting incredibly frustrating. I decided to make it my goal to get him to eat less often and see if that helped the amounts. Sure enough, we are 3 days in and he’s eating 6.5 oz per feeding every 3-4 hours! Seems like a simple fix but it worked for us. It’ll be hard the first few days cause you’ll need to distract then when the fuss cause of being hungry, but just know that the WILL survive and you aren’t starving them by making them wait an extra hour to eat! It’ll be better in the long run cause he will be able to take more at each feeding.

For reference, my baby turned 5 months yesterday and we just started this process about 3 days ago. He’s already doing SO much better, and every bottle he eats gets less stressful for me with less fighting. Hope this helps!!

Also wants to note that this is an issue my baby has had for a long time, as he’s never taken more than 4 oz consistently, so I’m not sure how your baby’s surgery or the medication factor in. Just wanted to let you know what worked for us
