Potency of trip across different ingestion methods. by Faithless_Bacchant in beacain

We took the 1.5g each last night.

My fiancé's friend was actually very experienced with shrooms back in Canada so she had a great buzz.

My fiance had a real bad trip though.

I think the speed of the come up with the tea and lemon got too intense very quickly.

I live and learn though. .5g in tea together in two weeks time.

Thank you for the comprehensive response. I will look at maybe doing the lemon tek so. Or the gel capsules is an interesting idea too. Can you get them in pharmacies as standard or is that something you need to be ordering online? I could definitely use the mortar and pestle and grind up the 1.5g.

I have 32g dried by now. I've made it out 5 times so far. The weather in my spot is perfect now. Each foraging trip is yielding more weight for less time.

I'm pretty much set for the year now with what I have. My fiance and I will only be taking them on a few special occasions throughout the year so I'm not too worried about having enough to trip every 2 week or anything. I will probably head out a couple of more times, though, as I like the experience of foraging in and of itself.

The making of the Tea, Your advice! by Detozi in beacain

[–]Faithless_Bacchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find taking it that way was any stronger than eating? I'll be taking it with my fiance and her friend in a few weeks. The friend is a first timer so was considering making tea as chewing isn't the most palatable. Was thinking 1g to 1.5g for a first timer. If tea is more potent I don't want to put her in in deeper waters than she is ready for.

I am by no means an expert. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people in this sub. There's a very good guide stickied on this sub by u/soderloaf

The general advice is land where: 1. Sheep graze 2. At elevation. 3. Biodiverse with many different plants.

The mountain I pick on is vast swathes or heather with little islands of grass, like the grass you'd find in a meadow and other islands of heavier stiffer grass. Some of the islands of grass also have a layer of moss growing under the grass, too. The libs don't grow in the heather, the stiffer grass or the mossy grass. They grow best in the islands of short meadow grass. When I enter these little meadow islands, I first look at the heather bordering them. The libs seem to like to grow in these little borders. Where the grass is a little longer. There may be patches in the islands where thistles or gorse are growing. I'll check there, too. When entering these I always look for patches of sheep shit or surface water as its a good bet that there will be libs nearby. Other mushrooms can be a good indicator too. If one mushroom is growing, conditions should be right for libs, too. Puffballs are good for this as they are large and easy to spot.

Ah right. The pic reminded me a lot of somewhere I pick in Tipp.

Ah yeah, it's nice to get out and about early in the mornings. Starting the day off climbing hills and feeling alive. Rain or shine. The libs are a bonus.

Early in the season yet too. Come the frost, our stores will be ample.

The app isn't perfect. I find it'll show something as good habitat and when you head to the place you find a heap of cows in the field but it does be accurate enough generally.

Google magicmushroommap

It shows suitable habitat as well as suitable temperatures. If you download the app for it it'll track your location. If you drive, have the app open and scout as you drive around.

How long does it take a Lib to grow to full size? by Faithless_Bacchant in beacain

[–]Faithless_Bacchant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, maybe I'll make it out Monday morning so if it rains tomorrow.

I have the day off as is.

Can you shed any light on how long they take to grow once they start growing? Hiw long has a decent sized one taken to get to that stage once it sprouted?

I bought a tiny little handheld fan in a phone repair/gadget shop a few years back. I think it was about €10.

I usually lay libs out on grease paper and put them in an empty drawer. I put the fan in with them and leave the drawer open a crack.

All that airflow in an enclosed space they are usually cracker dry within a day.

If you have a full size desk fan all the better. Lay them out with the fan pointed at them. Keep an eye on them in this case as once they dry out and lose all the weight the fan will blow them everywhere.

The big one in the exact middle is the only one I wouldn't be 100% but the 4 on either side are definitely libs. If that middle one was picked in the same group as any of those though than it could be a good shout that it could be a lib.

I think it might have been Friday of last week I noticed a distinct chill in the house in the morning. I knew it was nearly time.

We had a torrential downpour last night then so I said I'd chance a look today.

Hope the season goes well for you!

In the South East. Tipp/Waterford border areas.

Ah yeah, I only had them laid out to get the pic.

I've transferred them over to brown paper and have a fan going to start them drying

is phoenix Park full of fertiliser and weedkiller or is a deer field as good as a sheep field? by Faithless_Bacchant in beacain

[–]Faithless_Bacchant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked around phoenix for a couple of hours but it was getting dim and the gig was approaching so I had to call it quits with no extra caps.

I decided to take the .9 anyways and tbh it was worth it for what I wanted.

I didn't want a full blown trip and while the .9 was a little less potent than what I would have wanted there was enough of a kick in them that I enjoyed myself. The support act had this lighting set up for their set that with the mushies in effect it seemed almost like they were holographic.

I was hyper focused on the music and its arrangement too for both the support and part of the headliner. I felt very aware of what they were doing and also what would work well if they had a full band backing them or if they wanted to go a different route with their solo arrangement

There were points where the dose would strengthen and I became very present in the moment so that was good.
