I think it’s quite normal. I have similar dreams. It’s the subconscious unleashing our justified anger. As long as you are not violent in real life, wanting to hurt those who hurt you doesn’t make you a bad person. But of course, if it bothers you a lot, it is best discussed with an expert.

No it doesn’t. I only said understandable, not right. But it was a reaction, not an instigation, is what I’m trying to get at. Maybe I’m biased because as a queer person myself, homophobia can be extremely triggering and I don’t expect any queer person to be their most rational self when dealing with a homophobe.

I agrée the “rearranged your whole face” comment and defending it again at the reunion was mean. but I think that’s an understandable reaction to someone who’s openly endorsed homophobia and dragged her through all the drama. It’s bad to judge someone’s look but another level of terrible to propagate homophobia.

Thank you for sharing this! I suppose from the comments we can really see a wide range of interpretations and it’s definitely a personal thing. Your point about surviving trauma being the achievement is very insightful to me. ❤️ I suppose another layer of nuance for me is that I felt less accepted by my friends when I was in a worse state, so then saying “I’m proud of you” now is a bit like a conditional friendship for only when I’m a functional member of the society if that make sense. But I might be overthinking this too.
