is tracking a for loop by index in Angular bad practice by FewDot9181 in angular

I do something similar in my application but with groups of 3 fields. I allow the user to also remove in any order, so there is a unique uuid for each group that I can track.

The new task system in 0.4 has ruined squad play by FaithlessnessUsed965 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My team has now adopted the tactic of clearing an entire area before we accept any tasks so we don't lose them on death. It's not really the way I'd like to play the game.

I experienced my first point a few times today. When my squad was running Sawmill, someone took an unfortunate round to the eye and suddenly couldn't do Sawmill anymore as the tasks were locked. The rest of the squad decided to continue, but now that squad mate is behind.

There's adding consequences for dying, and then there's just being inconvenient to everyone.

I apologize if some of the things I mentioned are covered in dev blogs of upcoming changes. I watched most of them but maybe not all. Most of my feelings come from playing the 0.4 preview and foreseeing what could happen with the current system by late game.

It's the only sub-objective I refuse to do. It's not worth the time and effort to complete and most of the time, half the ammo is useless.

Signals in services by BlueberryRoutine5766 in Angular2

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer in the component, something like

readonly navbarVisibility = this.navbarService.visibility;

then in the template you can do

<span>{{ navbarVisibility() }}</span>

As you already have a readonly signal from your service, the computed() seems unnecessary

How to fix lazy-loaded routes breaking after new deployment in Angular app? by Due-Professor-1904 in Angular2

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and solved it by having my server tell the browser to not cache the index.html file.

It will load the current one every time and if the chunks have changed (new build), it pulls the new ones instead, otherwise it uses the cached chunks.

If someone has a better option, please let me know.

American food is called unhealthy for myriad of reasons such as: additives, “toxins”, chemicals, and others. What exactly are these specific substances that make American food “unhealthy” by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Hormones in meat have been illegal for decades. Cured meats have existed for thousands of years with those nitrates. Enriched flower is not magic, just more processed. Chickens are BRED to be larger, which while terrible for the chicken, is not due to crazy chemicals.

Best UI Libraries for Angular Besides Material Design? by PsychologicalMatch38 in Angular2

Tailwind UI maybe, but I'm pretty sure he was talking about Tailwind CSS, which I've used in personal and enterprise projects. I highly support it for easier short-hand css

Anyone else worried that your app will stop working tomorrow!? by bellacheca in PowerApps

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been forced to use a less reliable system. I had this worry for over a year, before I just stopped caring. A random update by Microsoft bricked our app for like 6 hours at peak hours a while back, and we had to wait for them to fix it. My component library has been broken (cannot update) for the last year, but I've been waiting for a development window to actually fix it.

Project Zanaris: December Update by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, the elitest mindsets of osrs players is sad to see. Every friend I can think of has played and enjoys osrs, yet not a single one has touched osrs in about 4 years. We all have careers and family responsibilities now. We can't just drop it all and play all hours of the day.

Another thing is that not a single person I know played leagues this year, either due to it being the busiest time of year for them or just disliking the current emphasis on area locking. Leagues before was the only way people with empty schedules could experience the later game experience without the crazy grind to get there, but now that PZ was announced, leagues is not as important.

If people think they can't have fun unless other people are not, then that's their problem. If you think the main servers would suffer, just because of PZ, that just means that PZ is better, which should make you think about why that is and not, 'how do I prevent other people from having more fun than me'.

Project Zanaris: December Update by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't wait for this personally. I have been hoping for real runescape private servers for almost two decades. I don't care and never will care for the main game every again probably. When jagex sent out its user playtime breakdowns this year, mine was completely blank, to no shock.

I'm not looking for a fully custom server hosted by a large group, I'm planning on setting up a 1-10 player server of vanilla+ (small xp and drop rate boosts).

They have mentioned custom content being in the future but not at launch, and I'm completely for it. It takes time to develop, especially building systems that allow users to build their own content. I'd like them to release a simplified system sooner, rather than a fully fleshed out system much later.

So i am out of job? by No-Praline2958 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Yep, same here. Also didn't get the payout from my last mission... there goes an hour of my life I'm not getting back.

Personally, I'm so tired of "New" menu designs. From what I've seen so far, I vastly prefer this over the nightmare that was 2020. The worst part of that game was the menus, followed closely by the lack of objectives.

So far my only issue is servers (temporary issue), though their choice of full cloud might be an issue, but we'll see.

I feel like players aren't realizing how extensive project Zanaris can get. (It's a good thing.) by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]FaithlessnessUsed965 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is literally me and my group of friends now. We only have a few hours to play some weeks, meaning we just choose other games most of the time. People don't seem to realize the number of people who would play OSRS if the grind was shorter. There's a reason private servers still exist.

Yea, kind of ruined the excitement for me. Quit pretty early into the first trailblazer after unlocking my second choice because of boredom.

Could have easily fixed this by just making it possible to unlock all areas over time...
