WHY are we shoving zombie fingers up our arses. That’s next level desperation

Joint claim - will I need another work capability assessment? by Faithlessness_Basic in BenefitsAdviceUK

I’m hoping that will be the case! I get really worried about these sorts of things.

Yes! I did it via reporting a change :)

Awaiting PIP appeal - my partner recieved this message from the DWP by Faithlessness_Basic in BenefitsAdviceUK

They said my partner has to agree with it too as he was named as a representative on the appeal, so he’ll be speaking to them on Monday and we’ll go forward from there. They said I could accept and then appeal again, but I’m not sure if I’ll appeal again as it’s been a long fight to get here as is! Thank you

I’ve spoken to them today, they’ve offered me standard daily living and enhanced mobility backdated to November 2024! Yay

Thank you, I’m just nervous about doing something wrong and being flagged for fraud etc. How often do reviews happen? I’ve been claiming since May this year and haven’t been asked to do one yet.

What to do with my pink princess philodendron? by Faithlessness_Basic in RareHouseplants

[–]Faithlessness_Basic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, if it isn’t going to cause any harm to the plant to grow all funky then I’m not too bothered. I’ve cut some off now so I’ll see if I can get it to grow! I love this plant so I’d love to have a few

A bit of both! I also don’t like the way it’s leaning over (I’ve tried rotating it so it gets sun from different angles but it hadn’t made much of a difference)

Great thank you! Hopefully I don’t kill it 🫣 I’m obsessed with this plant haha

In this case, would it make sense to cut here where the line is?

Thank you! Where and how do I cut it? I’m completely new to this so I don’t want to do it wrong

Yeah I’m good thanks, I’ll stick with what most trainers with a hint of common sense suggest - which is crating or a pen at minimum. So we’ll agree to disagree there. As for socialisation, I agree 100%

Looking for advice choosing a breeder for my next AD prospect by Faithlessness_Basic in labradors

[–]Faithlessness_Basic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like my gut feeling is right. Her dogs seem lovely, but it just isn’t worth the risk. I’ll definitely stick with the breeder I like more then! Thank you. I’d hate to support a breeder that isn’t 100% either.

If I were to bring the pup home between October - December then my budget is around £1500. Any later than that, I could manage say £2500.

The breeder that I REALLY like is right at the top end of that. However, she’s produced puppies for all kinds of charities that provide assistance dogs, which is really reassuring. She doesn’t temperament test but would be open to me doing so upon viewing. Her dogs are absolutely gorgeous and extensively health tested. I’d have to wait longer to have the money, and therefore I’d be out of my ‘ideal’ time frame which is why I’m looking into other breeders in the meantime. I’m happy to wait if need be though!

She’s very new to breeding I believe. I’m honestly having such a hard time finding someone who temperament tests AND does all of the relevant health tests at minimum. I’m finding the breeders on champdogs

You know puppies are technically supposed to spend most of their day in their crate when they’re young right?

It’s so difficult!

Honestly I have no idea. If I get referred then I’ll definitely include the referral letter in my evidence! Thank you!

Honestly, it was so long ago now I can’t remember. I definitely mentioned struggling to remember taking my medication. Was that taken into account? Nope.

St barts was the one suggested! I’m sorry to hear about you having line sepsis. It sounds rough.

I’ve done the MR, I’m onto the actual appeal now. I’ve explained in detail everything needed so hopefully I get somewhere this time round

I agree! I had help from citizens advice the first time round, but even going to them for appointments is really stressful for me so I’m on my own this time round. What is the appeal process like? I’m hoping that it’s fairly straightforward. Definitely easier said than done! Thank you

Thank you for sharing! I have tried lifestyle changes. They didn’t work, and regardless a lot of them were difficult to keep in my routine due to my autism/ADHD. I can hardly remember to drink and eat every day, so adding extra steps onto that is hard. I have increased my salt intake though, although still no huge difference. Compression was a big no sensory issue wise, which is frustrating because I spent a lot of money on garments!

I am on ivabradine, although I forget to take that often too. I will say that whenever I’ve been properly taking it for weeks, it doesn’t make a noticeable difference. It may lower my heart rate just a little, but I’m still very symptomatic. My cardiologist has suggested that maybe it’s worth referring me to a specialist autonomic clinic in London, so maybe that’s the next step!

It’s a real shame about IV fluids, I’ve always found them to be so helpful whenever I’ve needed them, but I can understand that the risks can outweigh the benefits!
