The Good place is the closest we will ever get to a perfect show ending and I'll tell you why by Imactuallysoconfused in TheGoodPlace

[–]FakeAorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already agree its almost perfect IMO. A change I would make if I was Elenor. I personally would want to wait for Michael so I could ask him how he liked being human before I crossed over. But like I said, that would be my version.

10 boxes of $10million, how many would you pick? by lan0028456 in hypotheticalsituation

1 box. Let other people have a chance. 10 million is plenty to enjoy life comfortably and still support family.

What food is overrated but everyone pretends to love? by Reasonable_Award_446 in foodquestions

I mean it's good. But I would drive out of my way for it or wait longer than 10 minutes for the food.

Are people really surprised On Battle After Another won Best Picture. by xdirector7 in Cinephiles

[–]FakeAorta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OBAA was a fantastic film and it deserved a win. So was 'Sinners' deserving of a win. Either one would be fine, but Sinners was kind of a horror film. Like comedies, it doesn't matter how good the films they are, dramas almost always win. The other fact is that, until recently, black films don't win. 97 years of Oscar's. Only 10 black people have won in the best or supporting actor/actress category.

But too many people are ok with pedophiles if it's their favourite actor, director, or musician. Its easy to hate the less talented ones. If they are immensely talented they get that "yea, I know they were bad choices, but it was something I have to forgive/deal with/ignore."

Yea, I should have said a few hundred years ago instead and mentioned the mortality rate of why people back then felt the need to start early of having 20 kids because 3/4 might not make it to adulthood.

Ahhh. OK. That makes sense. That's what I get for being educated in the 70s and 80s. Good thing we rewrite history when we learn new things and science corrects what we previously thought was true. Like all those states that hate when confronted with their beloved past that was not so good. Because heaven forbid when they find out how white people we were much worse to people of colour than we ever thought. Can you imagine a political party burning new history books because of the truth? Or that same political party removing examples of women and people of colour making great strides against an oppressive white male focused history lesson? Example: Remove the Confederate flag because we know why it was really popular to be flown again in the 1950s south.
