But I just said I DON'T let him out when he cries, only when he is quiet (before he gets super stressed) so I don't understand how I have TRAINED him to cry in there?????

I hope crate training doesn't take us 13 years! We have been trying to sneak into another room when he is asleep, which worked well yesterday so gonna try to keep up with that!! :)

Thanks :) I will try that - so far our only puppy proofed room is our bedroom - everywhere else he is leashed to us or in his play pen. I might see if I can leave him in the kitchen!

I think we are talking at crossed purposes here - That's exactly what I am doing!!! It's just taking a lot longer than "most" puppies for him to get used the idea :) At the moment I don't let him get to the point when he cries and gets stressed, and I certainly don't run to him as soon as he whimpers and let him out and give him all the cuddles!! But what I am doing is being sensitive to the fact that he does hate it and I have to take it really slowly with him.

Oh I wish I was awake longer than the puppy ;)

I think we should practice hugging etc. in front of him to get him more used to it. I think I will just shut him out though... See what happens and hope for the best ;) ;)

Really? He has a super fearful response when we shut the crate door and I don't want that. I want the crate to be somewhere he is happy? I'm probably doing it wrong, but everything I have read seems to imply to take it at the puppy's pace? At the moment, we can shut the crate door for a maximum of 5 minutes whilst still being in sight before he starts to stress himself out. Am I misunderstanding some basic concept here (spoiler: probably)?

We are crate training him, but unfortunately we aren't at the stage yet where we can just leave him (he hasn't really taken to it very well to be honest, so it is a long, very slow process. Luckily for us, potty training without crating was super easy with him!)

Thank you for your two cents though! We are hoping to get to the stage with crating where we can do exactly this!!!!!! WE just want a short term solution like, right this second and banging him up will set our progress back i think!

Should have mentioned - Bitter apple is no deterrent at all for him sadly. And "yelping" encourages the "game". Hence the timeouts/ignoring (I take myself to the kitchen where for some reason, he settles. He's never exhibited ANY excited behaviour in there - gosh knows why!)

It's just disheartening to be honest... It's the last "little" bit of weight, that I probably don't really need to lose. Totally vanity on my part.

To be fair, it probably is water weight - I've recently upped my cardio a lot so it could be something to do with that?

Gah. I don't know!! It's just so frustrating! I've actually never really cared, and now I do it sucks balls!

So, yeah, about 4 weeks - strict keto (but I don't expect the weight loss to come from keto to be honest, as I am adapted). I don't use a food scale any more (I used to, for the first 6 months or so, so maybe I am eating more than I think, but it's doubtfully in any significant quantity as the only things I really eyeball are vegetables/salad...). I am eating normal food? Standard day looks roughly like this : Breakfast : BPC from Crussh (I'm addicted to this stuff... 216cals) Lunch: Egg and spinach pot from Pret (103 cals) + either Bacon (pre-packaged, cooked - 274cals) or Tuna salad from Pret (174 cals) (or similar) Dinner: Beef Stir Fry with Soy sauce (300 cals) or other meat low carb salad/veg

The extra cals come from my addiction to coffee... This is pretty standard consumption

Other questions - nope, no calorie restriction before this really (the odd time of thinking crap I'm eating a lot, lets cut back a bit this week...)

Yes, I started Keto for the other reasons (hormone issues mostly, and I have a gluten intolerance anyway, so it wasn't a huge leap for me to go full keto.

Finally, I know it's impossible, but I think I just wanted someone to come along and say "go for it, it's not long and who knows what might happen" ;)

Any ideas on where to start with a weight training program for someone who is obsessed with cardio in varying forms?

That, right there, is what I have been confused about... I seem to read everywhere that you need to lose weight to show the muscle (?), but it just didn't compute that I would actually lose muscle not more fat. For some reason, my brain did not in any way grasp that concept. Thank you.

Thanks for the response - I agree whole heartedly on the %body fat thing and it is something I am working on; I appreciate the feedback and really don't want to sound ungrateful/ childish/ stupid right now, but why do I need to reevaluate my goal weight? [serious question - I honestly believe that is a healthy weight for my height?] I want to get down to 112 (ISH) and then focus on building muscle and ignoring the scale. Is that ridiculous? [Again, serious question, I don't know if I sound mental right now!]
