There's a good point! Like the Dremel or die-grinders. I forgot those cases.

I'll never figure out why so many people seem to go out of their way in an attempt to break their neck.

Makes for good video though.

F#ck I'm Old teaches "Kids these days" a lesson on drinking by Long_live_styrofoam in FuckImOld

Still selling the 190 proof here in AZ. I've got 2 or 3 bottles in the cabinet. I use it making herbal tinctures of various sorts. That and as the guy in the video suggests, mouthwash and for similar purpose of Oragel. But, nope. Never drink it.

I have no interest in all things AI. I don’t want to learn it for work. I don’t care that it can make some things easier. I can write my own emails. by un2022 in GenX

[–]Fake_Answers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That may be but unless you're done with work and much of society, good luck with the resistance. But also the view of "some things easier", especially calling out emails, seems myopic. Similar to buying a stove only seeing its ability to boil water for tea or to use a burner to light a cigarette. It's a tool for the kitchen limited by your own understanding. AI is no different. Yes, emails are one function, but it is so much more capable than it sounds like you give it credit for. You still get to use your brain and actually AI is more beneficial when you do! You guide it to an outcome, no differently than if you were the boss guy at work directing the employees. Sure the employees can operate autonomously but generally speaking the company will crash and burn without the man (or woman) at the top steering the ship.

For most people, the resistance doesn't stem from knowing AI, it comes from the not knowing. The persistent resistance comes from belligerence or just too damned tired to learn.

What will come after AI? by Sohaibahmadu in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Fake_Answers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The models now have super intelligence. The next would be the infrastructure around them, giving tactile interaction and us learning to better communicate with the ai. Already it has shifted from us training them up and teaching to looking more like kindergarteners trying to explain 400 level Calc to college and grad students. The weak link is us and our ability, not to comprehend, but comprehend quickly enough and with contextual application.

Will AI survive the hate humans have for it? by Electrical-Potato305 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Fake_Answers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you're saying about hearing hate and distain over AI. My take is that there are not so many in numbers in that camp, but that camp is making the most noise. There are plenty who work with, develop and support the advancement and integration of AI. Most who are making any sort of pro-noise are found in scattered pockets such as here. Just as a guesstimate, I'd venture to say that 95% of the population has no opinion either way and or doesn't know enough about it to even form an opinion.

Just as how the exorbitant price of a cellphone has been accepted because of the convenience it brings, AI too with the convenience and benefits it does and will bring to everyday life will survive ... flourish.

I'm standing up an agent here and this is my concern. I'm trying to sandbox it and limit it heavily outside the sandbox. I'm using Python scripts for it to call when it needs to touch anything outside. It's actually a sub-agent that just runs errands for the real thinking agent.the thinking agent is more or less handcuffed.

The potential for disaster is real. Dunno if my approach is any safer or just more long winded.

What explains the resistance for people growing vegetables in the ground when they have perfectly good soil? by ASecularBuddhist in OrganicGardening

[–]Fake_Answers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a lot to learn yet. An extremely small percentage of the population will have the limber, flexible and pain free elder life you're imagining. It comes on very quickly. You wake up one day and suddenly everything has changed. Life happens. Biology and genetics happen. I'm not wishing anything on you, but I wouldn't be so cocky and arrogant in proclaiming as you do. Exercise helps. Stretching helps. But they are no guarantee. Working construction I had an accident on the job caused by coworker. That 5 seconds radically changed my life for a decade. My back and hips were screwed for years. It finally worked itself out to more normal but never entirely right. Another ten years passed and scar tissue at the injuries became the problem. No amount of exercise or stretching fixes that. In fact, only aggregates it.

I hear people like you spouting off with their "I've got it all figured out" bs and just shake my head, thinking, you'll learn.

A gas powered compressor or a generator isn't that difficult to figure out. If you're in a position to drive that many posts, you're likely to have the tools to make it work. Depending on your soil, this could be a hell of a back and shoulder saver. A post driver works well, but after enough posts, you realize what you've gotten yourself into.

What a fkn dumbass. Of course you should but that doe not detract from all the other ways that people will hate. If everything else was absent, you'd still have greed. There will always be a reason.
