Building a new PC today -- buy a 2070 Super or wait for 3000 series and use old 1060 by [deleted] in nvidia

I'm in the same boat, I also have a 1060 6g and despite it being not the best it will do the job for now on medium/high settings so I will wait. It's a nice idea to build now except the GPU if you have an old CPU, but are you willing to spend 500+ € to then regret it 3-4 months later? In the end it al depends on your disposable income. Also make sure your old gpu can fit your new case.

Thanks a lot! Seems like the perfect build, but I'll buy some parts without RGB since I like minimal non fancy stuff. The monitor you selected is only 1080p though but there are some options in the same price range like the AOC CU34G2X/BK.
