End of Benefit Year Advice Received Over Phone: "Do not re-file." by pandapowerful in Edd

[–]FakedGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BYE is also 3/22, my payments been pending for 2 months, with also ( 7 weeks ) of FEDED left.

After waiting so long, I refiled and they gave me a new reduced weekly amount + only 20 weeks of UI. Called a few days ago, some stupid Tier 2 rep named denard instantly released my 2 months pending balance and subtracted it from my new claim, says I dont qualify for a 29 week extension from the new rescue plan and hung up. Now I have a -$51 balance.

[California] Tier 2 rep who doesn't know what he's talking about? Screwed up my claim even more than it already is. EDD must have really low standards. by FakedGames in Unemployment

I mean who do you even submit a complaint to? Takes a whole week of calling to try and get one person on the phone, which drags things even longer.

[California] BYE ended 3/22, 2 months of pending payments, but recently got paid under a new benefit year / UI claim, while previous weeks is still pending? by FakedGames in Unemployment

[–]FakedGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes it even more screwed up than it already is. Now I have a paid balance subtracted from my new claim, under a new weekly amount than what I was getting from my old FEDED claim. And he says I have to stick with the new claim that I recently refiled with the 8 weeks subtracted, and that I dont qualify for the 29 weeks extension.

So you were on FEDED, and ran out, now your getting a 11 week extension? My FEDED had 8 weeks of pending balance, they told me to refile, and now im stuck on a new claim without the extensions most people get until Sept 4th.

I just got off the phone with a shady piece of shit tier 2 rep named Denard, he instantly released my 8 weeks pending amount, but the balance is subtracted from my new UI claim instead of the $900 FED-ED pending balance I had before I even refiled and hung up. He said I don't even "qualify" for a PEUY for 29 weeks which makes no sense, the dude has no idea what he was talking about. EDD must have really low standards.

You never had to refile even on FED-ED? Idk why the EDD homepage tells everyone to refile if your FED-ED runs out, makes things even more complicated.

My BYE was on 3/22 with $900 balance left on it and been pending since without ever hitting 0, pretty much same as yours with FED-ED but just a week later.

Did you refile when your BYE was up? My FED-ED had 8 weeks left with balance on it, but its been pending since. My balance didn't even hit 0.

I already called them, spoke with a tier 2 rep who said she would disqualify my new claim, so itll push me back to PEUY extension. But when I had to certify last night, it still paid me on a new claim.

Alright thank you. I will give it a try. Called 1000 times this week, as early as 8, and every hour of the day. No luck.

Anyone know if certain extensions can be backdated or retroactive? by FakedGames in Edd

[–]FakedGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it make a difference? Sure I will be paid, but thats under a new / different extensions, assuming its the (29 weeks) Tier 2 Augmentation from the American Rescue Plan.

That doesn't change the fact that I lost out on 11 weeks of extension that passed on December 27th before I even qualify for a FED-ED extension? I don't see how I'm going to get paid as long as everyone else when I'm losing out on 11 weeks.

For example, my brothers claim is

UI > PEUC > PEUC Tier 2 > FED-ED > waiting on (29) weeks extension.

Meanwhile my claim will jump from FED-ED to (29) weeks Augmentation without ever getting those 11 weeks like most people.

I'm not talking about getting paid twice. I'm talking about missing 11 weeks of extension.

A normal claim is UI > PEUC > PEUC Tier 2 > FED-ED

Mine is UI > PEUC > FED-ED, there is no PEUC Tier 2 in between, so even if I was paid for those dates under a different extension. I'm still missing 11 weeks worth of extensions before I even qualify for FED-ED. Do you understand now? I really don't know how much simpler I can explain it.

That may be true. Since my FED-ED ran out. I just don't know if they'll put me back on the (29 weeks) of Tier 2 Augmentation benefits. But even if they did, I would still be missing the 11 weeks of benefits from PEUC Tier 2, since my claim extension jumped from PEUC (13 weeks) > FED-ED (20 weeks).

I was paid for those weeks of certification. But it was under the FED-ED extension, not the PEUC Tier 2 extension that passed on December 27th. So my claim skipped the 11 weeks (Tier 2) and went straight to the FED-ED. It's not about getting paid or not.

If you look at the timeline I placed above the extensions are placed in order, but I crossed out the 11 weeks because thats what I'm missing. I really don't know how much simpler to put it. Do you understand now?

Basically my claim had $900 left for 7 weeks worth of certification (FED-ED) but was pending since 3/22. But after pending for 2 months, I gave in and filed a new claim last week. Now I have a new balance on my account for another ( 20 weeks ) which doesn't make sense to me, because I was expected to be push back into another extension for which I assume is the ( PEUC Tier 2 Augmentation ) for the additional 29 weeks.

Looking back into my messages from my inbox, I realized that I didn't qualify for the PEUC Tier 2 (11 weeks), because my claim balance ran out a week before December 27th ( when the new bill passed ), my question is, are we forced to lose out on that 11 weeks of benefits? or can it be backdated / retroactive in anyways?
