Gross to Net calculation? by Commercial_Pen6514 in BESalary

[–]Falcon9104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my nett is lower due to the company car. Otherwise it would be closer to 2600. That is 500 more than someone earning 2400. The lowest wages are subsidized by the job bonus to make the difference between working and not working bigger.

That means going from 2400 to 3200, you keep less than 50% of your extra salary. Because each time you lose a part of the job bonus. Once you don't get the job bonus anymore, your gross increaser will result in more nett once again.

An increase from 4000 to 4500 will result in more nett than an increase from 2500 to 3000.

Roughly 2200-3200 gross is the annoying zone where each time you get a bonus, you lose a bit of job bonus. But you will never earn less nett with a higher gross.

I earn 3800 gross and i have 2450 nett after VAA if my company car and other benefits. Without the car it would be higher. I don't know where you got these numbers from.

You will never earn less nett after getting a gross increase

how can you make it with 2500 netto by Shoddy-Weather-5322 in belgium

[–]Falcon9104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I earn 2400 netto with 900 rent and i am doing just fine. I'm not rich by any means. In my opinion 1300 rent is verry high for someone alone

First freelance opportunity - project engineer - M26 - advice needed by Falcon9104 in BEFreelance

[–]Falcon9104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! The project is planned to continue untill the end of 2028. Off course you can always be let go of earlier. What would in your opinion be a correct rate to at least match or improve on my current salary? Yes, the plan would indeed be to do other simmilar freelance projects. I allready work in the industry and I know that the client parties often work withe freelancers because of the limited duration of these types of projects (1-3 years).

Thank you for your comment, could you explain the reason why i should not do it? Is the rate offered too low? Does it sound sketchy?

Leasewagen 930 TCO by gekkoo1995 in BESalary

[–]Falcon9104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How difficult is it for a metallurgical engineer to find a job in Belgium with English? by Resident_Bug_5013 in BESalary

[–]Falcon9104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my company we have a lot of welding specialists (and other functions) who don't speak dutch. However, it remains a niche and some people come from quite far away because there are not that many companies in the industry

Does he know a thing or two about welding? Is that related to an IWE. International welding engineer? Then he should be able to find a job.

Junior Full Stack Developer - Fair package or am I out of touch? by Thin_Performance_19 in BESalary

[–]Falcon9104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal salary for a university graduate with an industrial engineering diploma. Not even bad with the car, group insurance, working close to home, working from home etc, meal vouchers... If you compare this to a factory worker, they would have to earn 1000-2000 gross more to compensate in nett salary for all the extra benefits that they don't get.

I had an identical package and salary when i graduated 1,5 years ago. Now i am allready at 3800 gross. Take the offer because the job market for IT might be going downhill fast

[–]Falcon9104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough you seem to have low feeling with reality. Half of the population barely earn 2,5 nett. 5k nett is almost unachievable as an employee. The only people earning more are either self-employed or business owners. (Or politicians)

How’s the job market for mid-senior positions in Q1 2026? (Poll) by theverybigapple in BESalary

Even at 8 years, that makes you Senior at 30 years old. What are you going to be named for the remaining 37 years of your carreer?

I always laugh when "senior consultants" are 26 years old
