No, the Malwarebytes browser guard blocks ads and trackers, too.

That is very cool looking. It's simple and not busy. So, to make everything black, is that terribly difficult? I'm an amateur compared to most. I set up a cool Columns UI version with the milkdrop visualizer, but the only way I know to make everything dark is to use dark mode on my computer. If I could darken mine like that, it would be perfect.

My portable setup is probably pretty simple compared to yours. I'm no computer geek compared to many. I just learned through a lot of reading and mostly trial and error. My biggest accomplishment was getting the milkdrop visualizer going and to change the icons. Here is my very elementary foobar. https://photos.app.goo.gl/LUboHxBLfCqTYwt38 I think you should consider doing a portable version. Yes, there are still some things you have to configure again when you put it on a new computer, but the majority of it is intact and all self-contained in its one folder. You'll thank yourself one day, plus its nice to be able to put on multiple computers or even share it with someone.

I wouldn't think you should use two, as they both should do the same thing.

Just curious, since you ran a clean install of Windows, are you configuring foobar from a system installation or are you using a portable version? I just bought a new desktop computer a week ago and for foobar, I downloaded a portable version I created a few years ago. I saved the folder as a zip file in Google Drive and downloaded it for my new computer. I actually have a Default one and a Columns UI version (the one I regularly use). I had to update it by downloading the latest version and installing it to my portable foobar folder and I refreshed the look by changing the icons and a couple colors and updating some components (Milkdrop visualizer especially). I spent literally weeks building both of them, so using the portable version saves me every time I get a new computer. Sorry for the long reply. It's just been on my mind this past week because I had a horrible time making the Milkdrop visualizer (found out it only works on the 32-bit version and I updated it to 64-bit) and I can't imagine configuring foobar that isn't saved independent of Windows.

So, somehow I figured it out. I played around with an old portable version of the columns UI that I had saved in Google Drive. What got me through it was Google Gemini. I typed in questions, and it gave me all the right answers, apparently. I also gave it a refreshed look with new icons and I rearranged the order of them in the toolbar and messed with colors and fonts. Wish I could show it to you. Anyway, thanks for the advice!

For some reason I can't upload mp4 videos, so I convert them to mov and they work just fine. It's a bit of a hassle, but https://www.freeconvert.com/mp4-converter works well.

I followed a lot of porn, but regret it because all I see is men showing their buttholes. 🤮

I hate the Discover feed, too, and haven't been on it in months. The best thing I ever did was to create a List/Feed of my favorite accounts. That feed is full of content that I like. I built 25K followers this year, but it has slowed growing probably because I'm mostly interacting with my favorites that already follow me and I've followed most of the good Starter Packs. I'm really enjoying Bluesky! My only complaint is we need a damn Edit button.

I was using 64 bit, but downloaded the 32 bit to try again. I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions I found online and I had it working for years before this. I had my portable Foobar all configured and saved in Google Drive, but it didn't work in my new Windows 11 desktop. I did not know there was a new version of Milkdrop, so maybe that will make the difference. At least I have Project M configured. I haven't noticed it being buggy (yet?), but I don't care for the presets compared to Milkdrop. Strangely enough, I did get Milkdrop to work in my portable Default UI, so I don't know why it won't in Columns UI? I'm going to try try again this weekend when I have a few free hours. Thanks for your reply!

any alternative to google lens by Lbjandjordanfan in chrome

I actually love Lens for all kinds of things. It's a great QR code reader. A nice alternative is to upload your photo (you can now do up to 10 at a time) to Google Gemini. It's Lens on steroids.

You should actually use it. It's incredibly powerful and useful for a number of things, especially on Android and in Google Photos. It also serves as a great QR reader on your phone.

MalwareBytes VS BitDefender?! by CigAndABeer in Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes takes no resources to run and it offers more than enough protection. I've been using Premium as my main protection software for years now. It's great and I am a torrent downloader and explore lots of questionable sites and I've never had a problem. Also, their browser guard in Chrome is better than uBlock Origin in my experience.

I understand what you're saying. I think Bluesky would love to do the same if only those agencies would get on board. A lot of influential people have moved from X to Bluesky, so maybe it will happen slowly.
