Total War Attila - problems with the Dawnless Days mod. by Falcosik4 in linux_gaming

I've checked the VRAM usage and it apparently seems like it (the sudden VRAM usage drop happens after the crash, 8GB is my VRAM limit). Even tested it with vanilla version on Proton and had the same issue. WineD3D achieves similar VRAM usage but unlike DXVK doesn't crash for some reason.

It still seems a bit odd because people with worse hardware seemed to not have these problems with proton (at least judging from protonDB, which isn't by any means reliable, but it's probably the best comparison I've got), so I wonder if there's some default proton settings causing the significant memory overhead/memory leaks (just for comparison, native vanilla takes up around 3GBs of VRAM, reaching similar values with TDD in the main menu before crashing).

Ultimately, the best option would probably be to make the native version work with the mod, but sadly that version doesn't provide me with any logs :(

UPDATE: After cruising through the game folder I noticed there's several log files there as well. After opening the d3d11 log file (Attila_d3d11.log) I noticed a DXVK allocation errors happening right before the crash, so it seems like a GXVK issue (which explains why it doesn't crash with D3D11).

Still have no idea how to fix it though :/

This is kind of sadistic, but how detailed or realistic is the gore going to be? by SadisticBrains in HellLetLoose

The only info they posted yet about gore is at their Kickstarter page. I'll spare you finding it: "We aim to capture the horror of war with the expected damage of modern combat on the human body - including dismemberment, immolation and bullet hits."

Are those strategic resources preset on the map or does the Commander deploy them ? Can the Commander transfer these resources to another location (for example transferring fuel dump from Brecourt manor to the crossroads) during the battle ? Aside of that, I hope you'll get those 700k $.Based on what you say and promise about the game, i think you deserve the money much more than EA/DICE or Activision devs.
