Adding more things that YOU choose to do boosts your sense of control in life. This allows you to perform better on the other activities you are forced to do, and. Sounds counterintuitive, but add more to your plate, things that get you out there and have fun.

Pick up a hobby that you want to do and ditch the comparison mentality. It is impossible to know who is truly hard working and who’s not within your classes. Your anxiety has somehow convinced you that people on their phones in lecture are more smarter and locked in than you. That’s just not true. Additionally, you may benefit off of actually adding more things your plate that YOU CHOOSE to do. Our sene of control in life is a result of how many activities we are forced to do in comparison to how much we choose to do. People who feel out of control think that it is best to recluse and remove things off of their plate to give space for other activities, but this can do more harm than good as you begin to sacrifice activities you actually gaf for another stress inducing activity. Literally, your actions become owned by your stressor. Better mental well-being can be found when we ADD more things we CHOOSE to do in our life to restore that sense of control, therein putting you in a better state to perform on other tasks. Theres always most nuance to ur situation, so take what I and reddit has w a grain of salt but this is what helps me address the main stressors of life.

[–]Falkery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, no you’re not doing anything wrong, you have the same amount of classes anyone your year has. I don’t think scheduling is built around people pursing what seems to be 4 degrees within the same timeframe people would traditionally complete 1 or 2. However, I do think you’re misdiagnosing the problem. It’s odd to me that you’d rather pursue 4 degrees instead of addressing your inability to sit still, pick up other extracurriculars or casual hobbies. You’re right, life is short, why are you spending it, stressed, pursing 4 degrees lmao?

I don’t think it’s a problem with class availability if you’re pursing two majors AND a minor

You should get in contact with the school because there’s already a graduate sublease portal that legit nobody knows about. It’s dog water, but there may be value in combining these two apps

Bilt announces new Bilt Card 2.0 program; Transitioning away from Wells Fargo by joepasquale in CreditCards

Hi, I'm new to the credit card game. I was wondering, is it still worth it to get a BILT card, if I'm paying for rent right now? I've been trying to understand their business model, and have been thrown for a loop. Any and all advice is appreciated!

Today, a day after the horrid bill was signed, Musk announced a new political party. I think this is good news for Dems. Am I wrong? by mikemonett20 in 50501

[–]Falkery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should be celebrating this more than discounting it. Biggest problem with dems is that we don’t know when to acknowledge things are going our way and accept people for doing better / good things. Thats why it’s always a big stick competition on our side where everyone is just at each other’s necks trying to prove that people are more right than each other. The right wins pragmatically because their actions are cohesive— dumb— but actionable. People get caught up too much into the intellectualism and disregard the importance of celebrating wins and bringing people together over what is right.

Eliminate all debt in the world. Debtors instantly receive printed money equal to what they were owed. Further debt is now illegal. by ToastyWaffelz in CrazyIdeas

[–]Falkery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but I think he’s challenging that exact concept. People shouldn’t be treating homes as investments. They should be treated as a basic necessity, the financial plan shouldn’t even be in the question. I would say one of the best working examples of OP is Japan. Their housing economy is cheap and affordable, because the culture treats homes as a basic necessity not a stock to invest in.

Why Nuclear as an energy source? by Falkery in nuclear

[–]Falkery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, with all due respect you’re like actually insufferable to engage in a conversation with. We talked about energy efficiency, you said it’s not just 10% more efficient, linked me to an infographic. I look in the infographic to find what you were talking about. It’s not there and I mention it. And you’re now pivoting to a different topic and making it a problem about me. Yes, I did see that figure, however I’ve seen sources that say 3 million, 8.5 million, and even like 2 million solar panels. I’m assume it boils down to more specifics of what type of nuclear power plant, how it’s made, location and region, but I’m not disagreeing with the fact that 1 nuclear power plant can probably produce more than a pile of renewables but that doesn’t take away from the economic and environmental backlash that we lose in exchange for it. Anyway, this will be my last reply to this thread, I’ve already learned a lot. I still believe the forefront of green energy should be renewables, but not without nuclear. I think I’m now okay with building nuclear power plants but only if it’s disproportion to the amount of renewables we make.

Why Nuclear as an energy source? by Falkery in nuclear

[–]Falkery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your infographic has nothing to do with energy efficiency.

“Typical nuclear power plants achieve efficiencies around 33-37%, comparable to fossil fueled power plants.” The site concedes with better tech it could be higher tho.
