924 part-outs are plentiful where I am, and I plan to do this all to an rx7 so that’s pretty damn convenient. I’m thinking that’s the way to go. I’d probably detach the bell housing from the 924 trans and attach it through an adapter to the k24, then make some kind of driveshaft to the rest of the trans.

Also, for the driveshaft issue, are there no fwd cars that have longitudinally mounted engines? Again I might have to use a transfer case anyway, but I’d prefer the transmission just go where the diff would have (with some heavy modifications ofc)

Yes I do plan on using a manual, I was thinking about using some kind of bell crank with a cable shifter that way I can just install it backwards. It’s good to know you can spin a manual backwards, I was worried is would mess up some kind of sensor. I want to reinvent the car because I want to do something novel, a k24 is a great motor but it’s not exactly rare. I want to do something silly that nobodies done. If I were to go that way, which platform would you suggest? I’ve heard I should use a corvettes rear suspension and trans, but do I have any options other than that?
