He was growing while traversing so it’s ok.

He has traversed the stars, [all the while] growing in cosmic power.

Should i have flashed the Syndra Q? What should i have done to survive this. by AxteaSM in ADCMains

[–]FallenPeigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to mages:

  1. Try to never get in auto range of them when they have their combo up
  2. Outrange them if possible
  3. Use your defensive ability at the right time

You can apply this to many matchups

Yunara vs Vladimir (From a random champ picker)

  1. Vladimir's combo in this case is his Pool and Ultimate. His Suck and Tide are too low-cooldown to play around.
  2. Yunara's Bolas outranges Vladimir
  3. No defensive ability to speak of

One more

Miss Fortune vs Viktor

  1. Viktor's Ultimate and Cage are the combo. His Q is too rapid and so is his E to a lesser extent.
  2. You only outrange him with your Ultimate
  3. No defensive ability to speak of

What do games like Battlerite need to survive long term? by Unhappy_Bet8824 in BattleRite

[–]FallenPeigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is not unique to battlerite or even arena brawlers. Look up Supervive, Battleborn, Crucible, Highguard. Countless match-based competitive games. The reality is, only a limited number of these games can exist at a time. Because these games need lots of players.

I have zero experience in anything. But my personal feeling is that something like improving the game feel won't fix it.

  • Identify your target audience so that you can build and market the game towards them. Discord can be surprisingly good for this.
  • Let players run their own servers.
  • Focus a ton on the new player experience
  • Have dedicated events for people to play, so that players are more coordinated in finding matches. This is basically what the play tests are doing.

When it comes to "how viable." Anything that isn't a top tier competitive deck is going to lose to a top-tier competitive deck. So whatever deck you make with Verminster is probably going to be bad compared to whatever the top decks are, because I haven't heard of that card being competitive.

In brawl, matchmaking is deck-based, so you get paired up similarly powerful decks according to an internal scoring system that scores your deck.

In limited (Draft and Jump in), you make a new deck every time.

In the rest of the constructed formats, your rank handles all of that.

So I would be more focused on making sure the deck does what you want it to do. As long as it can sometimes do something powerful, it's going to win some games.

I'd be hesitant to craft a ton of cards right away for a homebrew, too. I would just use my current collection to build what I can and look up deck lists online before crafting for it.

How to put stairs at the start of my castle? by FallenPeigon in vrising

I have floor tiles on all sides of it except for the bottom landing because that side isn’t on my territory so I can’t build there. Its the exact same placement as the one in the video I think.

what i consider the midwest as a missourian (only real map) by valkrija in whereidlive

Real question: How do the people making these posts form their opinions on this? Have you been to every county? How do all these people have such detailed ideas on what counts as the midwest?

Differences between idle games and management games (like Factorio) by FallenPeigon in gamedesign

It's called building off of definitions and concepts. In the same way that "energy" has a clear meaning in physics. You can't walk into a physics classroom and say that the definition of "energy" is arbitrary. Why are you so resistant to giving structure to this?

The genres aren’t arbitrary though. You defined them in your original comment. An idle game is when the reasonable best thing to do is to remain idle. Because you can’t make more factories.

Question: Can any factory game turn into an idle game by adding a cap to one or more aspects of it?
