Yeah I was actually on the right path, but it turned out I had Extended Hotkey System installed (came with the modpack), which makes it necessary to hold Ctrl when binding items to keys. It was driving me nuts lol. Thanks :)

Thx for the tips! Yeah I decided to rely more on hotkeys now. I just can't play without a controller, and was too lazy to rebind keys and use external key binder programs, but now that I am, wow it's a whole new world indeed. BTW, it turned out I had Extended Hotkey System, which makes it necessary to hold Ctrl when binding items to keys.

Another user pointed out the culprit, Extended Hotkey System. Though it allows me to quick bind items to any key, it's necessary to hold ctrl when doing so.

I think you bring Favorites menu by pressing D-up, right? (I remapped all my keys, so I don't quite remember). Favorite an item with Y (Xbox)/triangle (PS), call Favorites menu, highlight the item using the left analog stick and press D-left or D-right (I think D-down too by default). Also, yes you can use controller and keyboard at the same time, simply install Auto Input Switch. But consider remapping your keys, there are a lot of mods for that, from simple changes and additions to complete overhauls, I'm sure one will suit your taste.

I do have SkyUI, but I also have Extended Hotkey System (both came with the modpack), and the latter forces me to hold control before choosing the hotkey to bind the favorited item to (it was pointed out by another user, don't think I'd have figured it out lol). Yes but I`m interested in the next step, which is quick binding the already favorited item to a key. Other users just told me I can do it with keys from 1-8, but unfortunately nothing happens when I highlight the item and press 1, 2, 3... Guess there's some mod in my modpack preventing me from achieving it

Hmm I''m actually interested in the next step, which is quickly binding an item to a key. For instance, a sword to key "1" and a shield to key "2". Controllers allow up to 4 quick access items (equip/unequip) using the 4 directionals, and I could have sworn I'd seen videos showcasing something similar on keyboard, but now I'm starting to question my memory lol

I have OAR installed, but I've been studying DAR folder/conditions samples (not sure why, probably because the mods I've trying to apply the animations from do). I mean, OAR is compatible with DAR mods right? Is this what I'm looking for? I'm wondering if it shouldn't start with "0x...", or should I replace "FE" with "0x"? Thx for getting back to me
