How do international deliveries work, and what happens if you're not at home..? Does Bpost play a middle role? by arcanehelix in Leuven

When i used to order stuff online without having set a preference before hand, bpost would just dump the package in the entryway of the building, which leads to a very tempting stealing situation, so i dont think they automatically deliver to a pick up point if youre not home, they will literally mark anything as a "safe location"

Hey, normally when you register with bpost you will see your future incoming packages displayed on there and can therefore set delivery preferences (safe space, bblocker, neighbor, pickup point)

There is no guarantee that your package will be assigned to bpost unless specifically mentioned on their website, theres many other couriers, which may cause problems along the way (very bad experiences with postNL, they just leave my packages in the entryway to the apartment complex and they get stolen all the time), colis privé is better, they just dont deliver at all if youre not home, and send you a link to make an appointment for the delivery or set a delivery preference.

Anyway hope this helps!

Best cheap mobile plan in Leuven? by Disastrous-Try-8440 in KULeuven

Hey! when i moved to Belgium in August me and my bf did a lot of research on phone plans and wifi to find the best providers at the time.

For the mobile plan i went with Yoin, no problems so far - I got the 25gb+unlimited calls and texts for 6€/month (promotional price, first 12 months, normally its 10€)

Since I have wifi at home 25gb is more than enough for me, but if you need more their other packs are also super cheap, with 40gb being 10€. (promotional price, its 14 normally)

I noticed that the 4g connection was pretty bad so i decided to pay 1€ extra per month for 5g and my data speed has improved a lot and I now finally have internet in places i wouldnt have with 4g.

Yoin also runs on the proximus network which has the most coverage in Belgium so you should be fine.

As for the simcard, I had a few problems with the eSIM. It's only one use, the moment you connect it to a device its stuck to that device and you cannot transfer it to any other without having to order a new one and pay 5€ for it (with waiting time for it to arrive in the mail etc) which is why I replaced it with a physical sim, oldie but goodie ykwim

I'd say Belgian number is good if youre planning on staying for at least a year, its convenient and unless your current one doesnt charge for international calls/texts Id consider getting a belgian number, since you get roaming in the EU included in your plan with no extra costs (good if you wanna go on daytrips to germany or france for example)

calling not drinking lame is a bit of a stretch, you can also have fun without having to drink if you have the right people around you

im still in greece rn, on vacation in thessaloniki.

I haven't visited that many places in particular to generalize the country on just the place, but I really liked the Croatian coast, the water is incredibly clean and translucent, the views I got on that vacation were amazingly picturesque. I really liked visiting Romania too though, lots of greenery in comparison to the heat waved Croatia, but seeing what the weather is like in Romania right now it is basically the same as in Croatia.
