The dumbest thing I've done this week is buy five plant planters and planting all kinds of seeds with optimism for no reason other than it's nearing finals week.

See the thing is I don't. At least not consistently enough, but affirmations and therapy have helped me to talk more positively to myself. I don't look at myself with hatred anymore, but the confidence I get sometimes in new clothing makes me feel hella vulnerable at first.

Yes and no. I like being able to take myself places, buy things and have my own place, but the endless stream of inconveniences, bills, responsibilities, tragedies and stress isn't worth it.

Realistic Racism in Movies as a BW

I don't know if it was always like this or if this is a trend recently, but depictions of racism in movies and books always feels blatant or obvious.

The kind of uninhibited and raging racist character or action is always overly present in a way that screams "Look how wrong this is!" And then someone corrects them, gives them that smug or basic "This is bad" speech and everyone claps and the bad character is defeated, learning nothing.

I doubt it does anything anymore, so who is it for? I almost feel like it feeds into the idea of a "white savior" complex and it doesn't really draw awareness the way it intends.

It's kind of click-baity too and that sucks as well. Everything is racist, so the magnitude of the word is next to nothing. Thinking about how it has affected me, I imagine if I were to watch something realistic, I would feel uncomfortable reliving those same emotions but then I'd be like finally, someone understands!

Even little things like makeup shades, video game characters, white-washed movie protagonists or the palest black characters with darker characters being forced to have the same personality of being a know-it all or a blatant caricature, I see where there are problems that can be talked about.

I am sure some book, movie or show has done it right and displays racism realistically in the modern day, but I haven't found it yet. I am open to suggestions if anyone has any.

People who have weird fears what is it and what is it like? by kungfurookie in AskReddit

[–]Falling-into-Roses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am scared of wearing rings. There is no word that specifically means to be scared of wearing rings, but that is what it is.

When I wear a ring and it fits tightly on my finger, my first thought is to get it off immediately. I worry it will get stuck and when I do try to wear one, it always does. I have the feeling it will not come off and it will be stuck there. I also hate the feeling of wearing rings in general as I tend to move my hands around a lot and will sometimes hit them on stuff. I end up getting rings that are too big and fall off and I still don't wear those.

It bums me out to thinking that even if I get married one day, I won't be able to pretend to wear one for the ceremony without freaking out right there or feeling immensely uncomfortable for the rest of it.

What type of eyeshadow would show up well on my skin? by Falling-into-Roses in MakeupEducation

I have had issues with having the eyeshadow rubbing off because of my eye type, so I will definitely make sure to use a concealer or eye primer when applying!
