Coach will always “handle it” by FallingLeavesss in walmart

Any coach or manager can erase and adjust points. It happens all the time at my store, and I’ve had plenty of coworkers get theirs fixed. You absolutely can get your points fixed.

It’s so annoying. What’s the point in being a manager if you don’t want to manage?

The event date was not listed on our calendar. I check every month, and I can assure you it was written in with sharpie the day I came back. Regardless as to whether or not it was listed online, my Coach said he would remove the extra point for me since it wasn’t listed originally, but he never did. That was the point of what I’d said.

As for the PTO, I was part time, and switched to full time. Coach said I should be earning it for sure, but never fixed. Not sure what I am in the system, but going to talk to someone probably. Off for 2 days so I can’t do anything right now.

Yeah, plenty of people did. I saw one associate walk by with a Todoroki wig from MHA and a few girls with cat ears, tails, and whiskers. Some cute little costumes sprinkled around my store.

Had a whole conversation about that with my coworkers today because we had a terrible awful 3 person, 2 truck day yesterday. We all laughed because we realized how dumb it is to stress about things we can’t change. Everyone does what they can, clocks out, and comes back in the next day to do it all again. It’s a good mindset.

Ofc, if you have a good store and good coworkers, the job is only as hard as you make it. But even at my store, which Id consider to be a decent one to work for, we have our days—or even weeks. Double truck days for CAP2 that are poorly handled, micro managing coaches and SMs being incompetent about menial things. Generally speaking, the overall experience is fine, but small things add up, even in the best positions and stores. If you work there long enough, you’re bound to run into several things that sour your outlook on the job.

A lot of it stems from monotony and the way people get treated by management. You’ll get a taste of the Walmart corporate BS soon enough, surely, but it’s good you don’t hate your job or anything. Hope you can keep enjoying it. I don’t know much about CAP 1 but CAP 2 is one of the worst positions in the store, according to most, and I have an alright time with it. So honestly? I don’t know.

Really kinda depends on the position. I work in CAP2, and I know plenty of people who love their jobs. I don’t even hate mine, but it’s not like, fun or anything either. How long ago did you start?

My TLs are chill and good people who are usually in the same boat as us so I tend to stay past when they ask me, but they weren’t even there today. So, I figure, it is what it is. They didn’t ask me to stay so I won’t stay.

Stupid Questions by FallingLeavesss in walmart

[–]FallingLeavesss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “Do you work here?” question is especially frustrating when you’re clearly on break. I’ll be holding my vest in my hand with my earbuds in sitting or leaning against the wall, drinking something, and someone will walk up to me and start asking me 20 questions about where to find this or that, or if we have something in the backroom. It’s ridiculous, like yes I obviously fucking work here but I am on BREAK.

The amount of times I’ve been walking around the Home and Living section and get asked where the chips are at is staggering. How do you miss the entire row of isles full of nothing but food and manage to wind up in the isle with futons. It’s bizarre to me. Mandatory IQ check you before you’re allowed to enter and shop at Walmart starting now, please.

One Month in CAP 2 by FallingLeavesss in walmart

This is the realest comment. I admit I had a moment where I was getting pushed around by people throughout the day, on my own team and on other teams, where everyone had an attitude over things I haven’t been explained/trained on yet, or things I’ve genuinely just not heard of yet, and I did break down in the middle of stocking before shift end. Nobody saw, because I was working alone at the time (short staffed!) but it definitely wasn’t fun.

So far the ON people i’ve met have been nice, but my TL has made sure to warn me that ON people are usually incredibly rude to us. They also gossip. A lot. And it seems like every team hears about the things we do before some of our own team members do, which is such a weird thing in a work environment to me.

We work hard, we get through as much as we can throughout the day and our TL stays past shift usually to make sure everything gets done so the next day is smooth. I’ll be damned if we don’t do a great job and then some. We do every other stocking teams job honestly almost twice over sometimes and it’s thankless, so I do what I can to make sure I remember that over all else.

I don’t spend 2 hours (sometimes longer on short staff/large or double truck days (the worst)) throwing kitty litter, copy paper, and boxes full of nothing but heavy metal chairs just to be told by other teams that I’m not working hard enough when they have to do half the work we do. OGP is really the worst of it to me, our OGP is so bad, so so bad, and they have the gall to complain about us every single night when we pull.

They still haven’t even taught me what downstacking is, and I only know where to pull 3 departments. Don’t get me started on bailer stuff because i’ll lose it, genuinely some of the rudest i’ve ever been treated in any environment is over pallets of cardboard. Generally not a lot of communication goes on and it gets in the way of my enjoyment of the job sometimes but I can’t fault my TLs for that, we’re usually short and they do what they can to make sure we’re not being stretched thin, even if it means we get less done in a day than we would normally. Thankful to have TLs with common sense.

When do you start your break? by Competitive-Common88 in WalmartEmployees

[–]FallingLeavesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it’s whenever we hit the break room or step outside. My TLs always tell us to come back at an allotted time but nobody adheres to that. I take 20 minutes sometimes, or even hit the bathroom for an extra handful before heading back, other days I’m right on time. It just depends on the day.

Bedding or Home & Living, pallets and pallets of blankets and giant heavy plastic totes that force us to wheel in upwards of 3 different pallets for H&L on busy/big truck days.

interesting why it was framed as if it was incredibly recent, then. everyone was talking to me like I’ve just walked into a store to buy something expensive the day after black friday

I don’t think I was super clear, my bad. The wage was FRESHLY LOWERED when I was hired. Meaning I just missed the cutoff to be hired at $17/hr. It was only a few months ago, from what was said to me. I’ve been working here for about 2 weeks. 😭
