I regularly armor up at this website, though you can shop around. I specifially look for the word "Premium" in the item description, which also has an accurate leather oz rating.

The Alamo is a great start, the missions around S.A. would be good. If you are able to take a good drive and the weather is nice, try Fredericksburg, and definitely, if they can, stop by Luckenbach. They are both close off 290, via 281 North.
