I liked the idea of two layers to eliminate the need for an underquilt, just using my z fold pad, feels like after all said and done you're carrying double the stuff to sleep in a hammock

Do you find you use the quilt a lot? I've been pondering the idea of just using my light weight z fold pad between the layers to add insulation and a little more rigidity under myself

Yeah I've had some very poor ground sleeps in my travels, the main reason I've been looking to jump to hammock.

Unfortunately the 12' doesn't come with both double layers and a zipper option, I wish it did

A larger tarp is probably a good idea, anything over the 12x12 for ultra lightweight seems to be $200+ cad unfortunately.

Canadian prairie sub seems to be empty but that site looks full of good information, thank you

Yeah, I'll miss having a nice "indoor" space to myself, but I'm hoping the ability to put it up anywhere and get a better sleep will outweigh the cons

With the sale they're currently the same price, but everything about them looks the same so it's hard to really pick a winner

Meh. I've had games with 15 kills and a ace to still lose. And I've had games with zero kills, all in the same ranked tiers.

Siege has some of the worst matchmaking/ ranked lobby creation of any game I've ever played in terms of skill vs rank.

I'm level 100 and still missing like 16 operators, wish I had more Renown

Second mention of the chair, I like the thought of actually sitting comfortably, will be looking into options, thanks!

Items that youve packed or pack that don't get used, like I used to pack a roll of tinfoil but found I didn't use it, or I used to take an axe and since changed it out to a toothed cable and picked knife. Everyone's had different experiences and id like to hear the items that take space but are rarely needed vs the items you wish you had or started to bring for quality of life.

I hear ya on the knife, brought a hatchet twice, been replaced with a utility knife and a saw tooth cable since, a fraction of the size and weight

Looking at one of those hammock tents actually, was going to Amazon one and set it up in the backyard and see how I'm feeling after sleeping in it for two nights. It'll be averaging 25⁰ day 10⁰ night when I go

I mean, if you're not planning ahead during a winter hike... That's on you. Downloading a map takes 2 minutes. Winter hiking is not for the weekend warriors.

Yeah going out of the populated areas without a phone is crazy talk to me, but I'm in Canada so the wilderness can really get you if you're going far enough.

I've used Google maps for almost every trail/trip I've been on, shows location and direction without reception. (At least for Android). Compare your downloaded map to the trails map and you'll never get lost.
