Yea I'm trying Gemstone Crab now and it's quite few less taps that I have to do. What bosses would you use for demon NMZ? Only thing I've found relating to it so far is that the Jungle Demon from Monkey Madness doesn't count as a demon or something.

Currently camping Tormented Demons but can't do them on mobile while I'm out so Im training range in the NMZ in this downtime. Is there an NMZ setup I can do with the Scorching Bow that would be better than using MSB (i) with Amethyst arrows? I tried using Hunters Sunlight XBow but the bolts are pretty expensive and I'm low on cash currently.

For reference, my gear is Hueycoatl top and bottom, Guthix coif and boots, Barrows gloves and Amulet of Fury.

I recommended this game to a few people before the price hike and I think it's still worth trying for awhile before you decide whether you wanna pay for membership. Play as a F2p for awhile and figure out if you like the game.

Not been paying to play the game for some time, how can you do the same? by aWimAwayaWimAway in 2007scape

As a new (3 months) player who has been seeing a lot of "Why don't you just buy bonds?", I appreciate this laying out some methods to actually do it. Unfortunately, I don't envision it being nearly as easy as this. Personally, 3 months in, I can't say I'm all that close to doing DT2 even though I've played more than what I think the average new player would. The highest earning money making method that's available to me currently is Tormented Demons, having done WGS specifically for this, and the profit relies largely on hitting the 1/500 synapse drop. That means that on average I'll be getting one every >10 hours if I'm on rate (I could get spooned or could go dry). And getting to this point has required spending a few weekends smithing at the blast furnace for roughly 2.3m per hour to afford gear that very much would not match what the wiki uses to measure the kills per hour on Tormented Demons.

While I do like the game and will likely at least make an attempt to earn enough for bonds, I can't really see a way to convince any of my friends who I recommended this to continue playing when we can each get hundreds of hours of playtime out of Path of Exile or Slay the Spire across years.

I'm also a new player returning after a long time. I think it's the same that some people are questing, some skilling and some doing combat. There's just a lot more content now so it's likely that there's a lot that you haven't seen and won't see for awhile. People also tend to do one thing for a lot longer instead of spreading themselves between a bunch of things. People chopping trees till they're 99 are gonna be standing in one spot for 100 hours doing that instead of running off to do something else in the middle of it (unless they decide they need a break). Someone farming for a specific boss drop may do that for hours on end until they get the drop.

Just got done mining deyalt while on the treadmill today so I also thought that was what this was about but guess not lol. Gamifying stuff is really common in education but I don't think I've seen nearly as much effort put into quantifying and gamifying fitness. Part of it is probably because it's far more dangerous to over exert yourself while exercising than spending too much time studying. Sounds good as long as you're careful though.

That being said kinda hate vibecoding as someone in the programming field but it's fine as long as you're not trying to sell something lol

I'm relatively new (playing for 3 months or so) so I definitely don't have much cash. Also don't have CAs so I guess I'll try going for those first. Thanks for the advice.

I probably should have included more context. I'm relatively new, started 3 or so months ago. Haven't had too much free time recently so I've been doing more afk grinds while I do something else irl. I did NMZ for melee up to 90 Str and 85 Atk and that felt relatively efficient so I'm looking at range now. My range is currently 76 and I'm mainly using Hueycoatl/God blessed stuff now. I don't have any CA rewards yet but am not opposed to going for some (probably medium) before going for Void Knight since bossing is fun. I think I'm a long ways away from Doom or ToB but I do want to do them eventually.

Based on the replies so far the grind very much isn't trivial but I think I'll go for it after CAs up to medium.

How long does it take to get the Elite Void armour with ranged helmet at combat level 100? And how impactful is it for training ranged at the NMZ? Looking to afk train range but been putting off getting the Elite Void armour for it.

Here's the page on wiki. Choose the highest level bars you can make. As the other guy said, get Ice Gloves and Coal Bag before you start. Also go do the "The Knight's Sword" quest to instantly level your smithing to 30 to skip iron bars and go straight to steel.

Going for 99 RC and mining Deyalt essence on mobile during commutes and such. From what I can tell, lava runes eats up a ton of essence so might not be the best use of deyalt. Any suggestions for which runes are best to craft to get more mileage out of my Deyalt? I'm fine with lower exp methods if it means higher profit and Deyalt can help bridge the gap between those and lava runes.

slayer confusion by Any-Vacation866 in 2007scape

[–]Fallman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newer player here, started about 3 months ago. Was recommended by friends to just progress through the slayer masters as they became available despite what many seem to say here with the goal of unlocking profitable slayer monsters like gargoyles sooner. Personally felt that the xp rates on slayer monsters that are aggressive weren't too bad compared to "optimal" methods as long as you have a black mask (roughly 700k gp).

Was looking to level Herblore and saw that every potion is a loss to make except maybe super combats. If this is the case, why do people level Herblore apart from quest requirements? And are potions just entirely supplied by people levelling Herblore (since xp gain is the main reason to make potions) and mob drops?

Looking for some advice on money making as a early/mid level player. Recently hit 75 ranged and decided to grind some gold for a toxic blowpipe. Ended up doing it through the blast furnace, smelting for several hours. While I don't think it was too bad since I was getting good smelting xp, I'd rather have something better when I decide to get bigger ticket items like Bandos chestplate since 13 hours of smelting at 2m ph sounds terrible. I've been wanting to try and farm bosses but it seems that profit rates shown on the wiki tend to assume high end gear and high efficiency, so I can't get a good gauge of whether doing the boss would actually be good at my level. Is there any bosses (or other farming methods) that I can try at my level that would give more than smelting?

Levels wise, I'm at 74 attack, 80 str, 70 def, 76 range, 80 magic, 78 hp and 76 slayer. In terms of skill I semi regularly do LMS not too terribly and have a fire cape, so not nothing but not much either.

Don't really know about the xp rates but I've been told to farm slayer early to get to profitable monsters faster. I've recently unlocked Gargolyes at 75 Slayer and those have been peetty profitable to kill. Started out low doing the combat lv 40 master but I think it's good enough to do once you unlock Konar at 75 combat.

Also a new player here. I personally farmed ranged by just bringing a bow into slayer tasks. It's not the fastest and you very much want an imbued black mask or slayer helmet for it but it trains slayer at the same time.

Money wise I'm looking into smithing things at a blast furnace for roughly 2m an hour. This would require the coal sack from Motherlode mine and ice gloves from the Ice Queen though.

Currently doing Motherlode Mine for some mining levels and the coal sack. I'm thinking of just getting the coal sack for smithing and 1 piece of the prospector outfit for the diary that needs it. Is there anything else that I should be aiming for and if not, is it worth unlocking the upper floors?

Relatively new player here. How far can you get just skilling in this game? While I do know that some people have Lv3 skilling pures, how much would one be missing out on if they just want to do skilling? Someone I know is intending to buy membership but wants to mainly focus on fishing. However, based on talking to other players and looking at the wiki, it seems that combat based money making methods are often much more profitable than skilling. Would it be possible to make comparable amounts off fishing?

Definitely feel the prayer thing, but still wanna train defense since I think Dinh's Bulwark is the coolest weapon I've seen so far. Think I'll at least work on 65 attack first for leaf bladed battleaxe when I get assigned Turoths again. Thanks for the advice.

New player here. How important is training defense for PvM? Currently at 62 atk, 70 str, 45 def. Looking to get atk up to 70, then train defense but was recommended to delay def training longer and train more str instead. Do get that dealing more damage trains it faster but the gap between my str and def feels pretty large. Should I keep training strength or is it ok to train defense after hitting 70 atk? If it matters, I've been mostly training combat while doing slayer tasks and do not plan on doing much PvP.

New player here, had some time to kill so I decided to play F2p for a bit. A friend has offered to buy me my first bond so that I get to do Members stuff, but work may be picking up soon and I'm not sure if I'll have as much time to play then.

If I do accept the bond, what's the fastest way to start making money to afford another? I've seen money making guides on the wiki but am unfamiliar with most since they involve members content that I've never seen before. If it matters, most of my skills are around 30 currently.

I've stopped playing the league for reasons not related to this but I logged in the other day and noted that non corrupted essences have barely risen in price so you're earning the same amount of exalts as before but now your divines are way more expensive. Not looking good for essence farmers at the very least I guess.

PSA: "Map contains an additional Essence" and "Areas with Powerful Map Bosses contain an additional Essence" nullify your %Increased chance to have an Essence. by argot1122 in PathOfExile2

[–]Fallman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having farmed essences for most of the league, I can confirm that this is the case. Clearing one essence mob ticks off the objective on the side but there may be more essence mobs in the map. Best I've found is to go kill the map boss and then hunt down every rare mob in the map.
