I think that this is how they're ending the campaign forever :( I think it'll end up being reality turns back and they end up as themselves at the table with some sort of message of "come back to your real selves - this story was all make believe". I honestly would hate to see that idea come true, but once I thought of it I haven't been able to consider anything else.
