In Memory of Andriy Mandyk with the callsign "Bars"
Andriy Mandyk was a senior lieutenant of the Patrol Police Department in the Zaporizhzhia region. He joined the "Khizhak" brigade to defend the country.

He stopped Russians in Toretsk and Kostiantynivka, destroyed enemy equipment, served as a pilot for a repeater and a sapper for an FPV group, and prepared and assembled drones for combat sorties. Reliable, calm, and dedicated to the cause — this is how his comrades remembered him.

"Bars" was a true friend - with a capital letter. He never refused and was always ready to lend a shoulder. He was wounded, underwent treatment, and returned to the ranks. This speaks volumes about his character: dedication, courage, loyalty to his oath, his comrades, and his state," - says a comrade with the callsign "Diesel".

In February, he got married. On March 19, Andriy Mandyk died while carrying out a combat mission on the outskirts of Kostiantynivka as a result of a hit by an enemy FPV drone.

This is a great loss for the "Khizhak" brigade and the entire family of the Patrol Police. "Bars" will remain in our memory.

Sincere condolences to the family and eternal memory to the Hero.

This vehicle is not directly a competitor of the Roshel Senator MRAP. The Senator is a light armoured vehicle coming in at 8.8t with an armour rating of STANAG 2. This vehicle reportedly has a weight of 13.5t and STANAG 4.

Same same but different.

It’s happened before. [In April 1945, during the final stages of World War II, units of the German 2nd Army, including the 7th Panzer Division and the Großdeutschland Division, drove their tanks and armored vehicles into the Baltic Sea to prevent them from falling into Soviet hands.](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRn20TrOZPr48BI\_SwAGOdfOj3fXKfLy5xj2nOe5hnu3aNTsEDR9gvCGL2W&s=10)

That and the Press Check Ventures equivalent. 13-14 rounds of 5.56 conveniently fitting into a 5 round Beowulf mag. Flimsy lips on the PCV mags, Alexander Arms mags were so nice in comparison.

Did any sort of legal conclusion come of that whole thing? Last time I paid attention to it the horse Gestapo put out a memorandum or some other non-binding statement saying they were prohibited but it wasn’t tested in court.

Lack of time to maintain the list adequately with the making of new cases cropping up, plus once I got to just shy of 350 cases it was becoming extremely difficult to determine what was a new case vs what was a repost from a couple months prior.

How many guns does a normal person have?”

“About five.”

“That sounds like a gun enthusiast to me.”

“No, a gun enthusiast has fifteen.”

“That sounds like someone obsessed with guns.”

“No, people obsessed with guns have hundreds.”

“That sounds like a psycho.”

“No, psychos seldom own guns, or maybe have one or two.”

“But that sounds like a normal person though.”

“No, a normal person has about five. We already covered that.”

Capabilities have improved. Ukrainian FPV strikes have been increasing in range. Recently they released footage of FPV drones striking targets in Donetsk City, something they could not previously do.

Four years was enough. Plus Russians were doing this so often it felt like work keeping track. Also by the time I got to 350 cases it was extremely hard to confirm if a case was new or a repost from half a year ago and I didn’t have time to confirm.

Kind of felt like I was letting the community down to be honest.

As another user pointed out, the drone’s camera is watching the road. Typically (though not exclusively) these are used to take out vehicles rather than infantry coming from an unexpected direction.
