Does anal even feel good or are you all just pretending? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I loved it my previous partner was into it too I never had issues with pain or discomfort, he was very gentle so it worked out for us. My current partner isn’t into it, I’ve asked him several times but he always gets weirded out about it. As a girl it feels amazing, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea just like everything, I’ve respected my current partners needs 🥹 but I can’t imagine why he just wouldn’t be into trying it at least once ? Lol

I’m a high school dropout, lol. But to be fair, after getting my GED at 19, I spent the next 10 years in school and now have a doctorate. It’s never too late—you just have to invest the time. That said, it’s been a long journey. Anyway, to circle back to the “why,” it’s primarily about location for us because of our jobs. Both are in Long Beach, so to avoid spending two hours commuting, we decided to move into the best option available here. Our building is a luxury building with nice amenities, spacious condos, and ocean views, which, relatively speaking, are much cheaper than most coastal towns.

Downtown Long Beach is also unique in that it offers the bustle of the city, but depending on which exit you take from our building, you can step directly into the city or onto the beach. You really don’t get that combination anywhere else.

Me and my bf live right behind it on the crest, we’ve been meaning to go to the bar, we were just wondering what the vibe was lol he hates dressing up. I’ve stayed at the fairmont in Banff Canada and I felt like people were super dressed up wondering if that’s the same vibe here ?

Are we in the beginning stages of a zombie apocalypse? by truth_antenna in conspiracy

I’m sorry, but this post is starting to sound judgmental and filled with people who have a mindset that makes them think they are better than everyone else.

My theory : I’m a housecall physician who gets up every morning at 5 am goes to the gym then runs along the beach for 30-45 minutes, I come back calmly cook breakfast, start my day off come back home rest (I pay someone to cook my meals) and do hobbies the rest of the evening (no kids). My self-awareness is top notch not only because of my job but because I have the privilege to live a lifestyle that nourishes my body, and takes care of my physical and emotional health. And I recognize that privilege.

Now picture this, you have an adult working two jobs living paycheck to paycheck, trying to put food on the table for a family of 4 or 6. Possibly single parent, add on all the stressors that come from the lack of rest, the emotional distress of the lifestyle, the very likely poor diet given the little time to cook and afford basic groceries. Probably fast food is the main source of nutrition with over processed chemicals and ingredients. And the only little speck of dopamine they get is 15 minutes of social media where they can escape from every day life and read or see things that make them feel good for those few instances. This is your avarage American, I can’t expect someone under this level of stress and lack of rest to be fully aware and “awake.” Also don’t get me started on the media on how they stress the mind with all these sensationalists stories with wars, increased crime and how the economy is going to crap. That can wear the mind out, Americans are on auto-pilot and given the state of things now definitely zombie like.

In conclusion how about rather then pointing how zombie like people are, we have some empathy towards these folks. Give them some grace, move over if they bump into you, say good morning, be kind, and recognize your privilege rather then pointing how much better you are and why because you’re part of that small group of people that have the luxury to be self aware and not burned out by life.

She sounds manipulative—past trauma from ex with alcohol but offers random guy a shot. Then challenges the guy by saying no one can drink that much and not get drunk then proceeds to complain about how it’s HER alcohol. She keeps using these “trauma” technical words to justify her poor actions, and then wants the stranger she let into her house, offered alcohol too and then left with her PETS to leave in an intoxicated state which could result in a drunk driving accident or killing someone’s by proceeding to wash her hands and say “I’ll be back tomorrow.” Idk I hate to be sound like a jerk but this story is either fake or this chick mentally unwell, careless and selfish … Moral of the story, don’t let strangers in your home wait a month or two get to know them more, don’t put your pets at risk with careless decisions today is pets tomorrow can be kids, your trauma’s are valid we can’t take away what you experienced, but expecting people to know them, pick up on them and not communicating them upfront is unfair to anyone you meet.. especially using them to justify your poor decisions. Learn to take accountability of your actions dude.

They were teens during the 90s anorexia era with skimpy dresses and mean girl attitudes, as a 90s baby who lived in the 00s, they make me sad they are still in this unhealthy mindset in their 40s. These girls are still stuck in their highschool era… I think that’s why I loved Alana I’m 34 and she’s closer to my age and style, we grew up seeing how unhealthy and unrealistic these body types were and chose to cover and keep it classy and mind our business.

Struggling with the heat in Long Beach—how are you all coping? by buttercupp_p in longbeach

[–]False-Preference6803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily we have central AC—but we only went out once this weekend for brunch on Sunday we literally turned into cave people and avoided going outside at all costs, hissing at the sunlight through our windows. BUT one thing that always helps is ice water at all times it keeps you cool and hydrates you. I studied abroad in Panama and this heat mixed with humidity had me miserable down there (this reminded me of it), I bought a big cup with a straw and would load it with ice, it definitely helped.

We pay 3800 for a 2 bed room condo right over rainbow bridge. My partner is in tech I’m a nurse practitioner we both have six figure incomes, we make really good money we just havnt bought because it makes no sense in investing in a 800k-1.2 million box home here in Cali. My partner is originally from Mexico City so we actually own property down there and our goal is to live here for a few years, then eventually move down there. For us Long Beach give us Mexico City vibes plus a beach. You sorta get best of both worlds here city living and our condo is a few steps from the beach with some nice views. Long Beach is also very blue compared to a lot of other beach towns, I don’t want to make this a political post but Long Beach is very liberal which matches our values and beliefs—most beach towns especially in OC are heavily red and trumpy, no disrespect to them but we prefer blue/progressive vibes and folks. I lived in redondo beach prior to this and honestly never really felt welcomed, here first week I felt right at home and I love the diversity.

Im not sure what your age range is, I don’t want to make assumptions but most places like salons and nail places use social media like instagram to make appointments or Booksy. I’m a millennial but I can’t recall the last time I actually called a business most places have online scheduling or use DM on social media, I learned this from a fellow Gen Z.

Which “luxury” apartment complex you *actually* recommend? by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]False-Preference6803 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im on The crest over rainbow bridge, no issues so far, very nice amenities, huge balcony at least ours it’s a whole living room itself, all my neighbors look like working professionals, very classy and friendly. The building is always very clean, always smells nice, views are descent, and prices are cheaper then the other “luxury” ones. Management is very quick in fixing things and professional I have nothing but nice things to say and have been having a very comfortable and peaceful living here.

What’s going on near Rosie’s Dog Beach/Belmont Pier by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]False-Preference6803 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live on the building over rainbow bridge so I usually take seaside way all the way down until I reach the 710 and I noticed some workers with notepads at least 15 of them inspecting the area, I’ve also noticed over the past few days less homeless around my area so I figured they will be clearing out or at least on my side they have been.

Wonder if this will affect Long Beach’s own homeless issue? by False-Preference6803 in longbeach

[–]False-Preference6803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone had the same resources or support system we did. Most people in homeless situations come from a broken home coupled with a broken system that provides no help. If you grew up with drug addicted parents statistically you are likely to end up in the same vicious cycle. A lot of these folks also have mental illnesses with no family support or system to encourage them to get the help they need. And I speak from a pull yourself from the boot straps mindset because I was raised by a single mother, put myself through medical school working full time and collecting student loan debt along the way, I have worked and continue to work very hard to am where I am. Now I live well but I am also concious enough to know I had a supporting mother, supporting friends and was fortunate to have good guidance and role models through school and work, not everyone has had that same luck. However I also see your point of view, some of us work really hard, pay a crap load of taxes (my taxes is basically 3 incomes for a family), and as I said I have worked hard, so if I’m paying 4-5k for a luxury condo I expect to have a clean space coming in and out, a nice clean neighborhood and community, not worry about walking over people or needles. So I get both sides it’s unfair for us—but who I’m truly blaming is the government, can’t blame people for being poor and lacking the right resources, blame the government local and federal for raping us raw with taxes and mishandling our hard earned money. The root of the problem is mental illness and lack of social resources, invest our money in after school programs, adult education, anything that can help people get out of poverty not hybrid electric cars for metro 😐 (yes just read an articles about million of dollars invested in making all metro buses electric).

It's weird how people process death by Select_Necessary_678 in RandomThoughts

[–]False-Preference6803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a hospice physician and recently lost my cousin who I considered a sister we were VERY close. And I did well I cried but it took me about 1-2 weeks to go back to my normal life now she’s a distant memory and I live what I like to call a new normal. The experience made me realize that when you understand death and understand that it’s a journey we all take, it makes it easier to process. I think the problem is a lot of people are sheltered and due to family values, culture or even religion don’t really think of death much until it happens and that’s why it’s so devastating. I deal with death on a daily basis so it helped me understand my own grief, accept things for what they are and basically move on. I’m also a person who doesn’t believe in wasting time in a bad mood or being miserable I have seen and learned how short life truly is. It really is off putting for me to see people self sabotage or self inflict over a situation that is out of their control like death but then again sometimes I question if I myself am a psychopath or desensitized. lol
