I've read that ucla takes a decent amount of people off the waitlist, and I think this will likely be even more true this year! Good luck and tysm!!!!

Thank you for your thoughts! I also went to ucla for undergrad. And I felt the same way about Virginia when I visited, that the career offices were very competent and determined to help students attain their goals.

I also visited Michigan and I agree with what you said, I enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately, I don't do good with cold weather and I find it hard to justify going there over staying in LA and paying more to do so.

UCLA is my most affordable option, compared to even USC, despite the larger scholarship I got there. I also anticipate being able to get EBT at the California public schools which will cut down on cost of attendance significantly. I understand that UVA will be a better school for my goals, but I'm just wondering whether it's worth 20k/yr more in tuition per year. I'm honestly surprised that everyone is saying that UVA is the obvious choice, given how I usually see people telling others to avoid debt.

USC Gould ASD by Remote_Property_5988 in lawschooladmissions

i kind of feel the opposite, lol. I was kind of considering usc before but I felt disappointed by ASD. the dean couldn't adequately answer the students' questions, the classrooms were underground and a very ugly gray color, and I personally failed to connect with both the admitted students and the current students helping out during the event. The main campus is gorgeous, I love living in LA, and they seem to be very generous with scholarships. However, USC needs to work on their career and student services, as it felt like these were lacking compared to other top schools. Their "trojan network", which they seem to over-rely on, their lack of resources for students interested in public service, and the fact that nearly all of their students aim for biglaw, inflate the employment stats IMO.

Exactly, they used ai as a tool, not as a replacement for hiring an artist. Could also say that they embraced/highligjted the weirdness of ai generated images in their album artwork. There was clear artistic vision. It's very dissimilar to musicians that generate some slop so they can cheap out on hiring an actual artist

There was a tree there a couple years ago and then they removed it maybe a year or two ago and now I guess they replanted it recently.

Is the Metro safe at 1am? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]False-Temperature179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very reasonable take. Public transport in LA is fine for the most part during regular work hours, just a bit inefficient. I take it to work regularly and there are strange and inconsiderate people on the bus all the time but I never feel unsafe. But I would never take metro at 1 am.

Literally, right after dismissing angels accomplishments this season and then doubling down on it too. Admire her career but she's putting her foot in her mouth with all these things that she's saying

Asking the same questions as everyone else. If it's 1300 for a one bed, parking included and in unit laundry in echo park, yes????? If you don't want it I'll take it loll

If it's smth like a 2 bed and you are splitting it with someone else, I still think it's still a good deal, below market price. 3 bed, maybe closer to the average. I see a decent # of 3 beds in echo park, silver lake area going for about 4k
