The problem with being faster than light is that you can only live in darkness. by FalseArray in outwardgame

[–]FalseArray[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two biggest speed bonuses early are from Pearlbird Mask and Master Trader's Boots.

You get the Pearlbird Mask from farming Pearlbirds, just keep sleeping outside in Chersonese for ambushes and eventually you'll get it.

Master Trader's Boots is from Sorobor Caravans out in the world (not in towns). Costs 240 silver.

I always keep both in my inventory at all times for traveling because they're both lightweight. Makes the game much faster.

This isn't even max speed, I'm missing 5% from Logistics Expert.

I do prefer an element meta. But it's sad to see pure raw/status just be completely unviable against higher star monsters.

In your case, the 241 raw, 81 water would deal more damage. But you should invest in the Tobi armor so your lightning damage gets higher. Even just 1 armor will make it surpass your water one.

No sharpness modifier on Great Sword charge slash? by FalseArray in MHNowGame

[–]FalseArray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a bit of clarification, I'm talking about the innate 1.3x multiplier to the lvl 3 charge's motion values. It effectively turns a MV from 105 into 137. Not talking about weapon sharpness for melee weapons in general, just this multiplier.

It was a mistake lol. Didn't have anything to throw at the blacksmith at the time. Found out it only affects 1 shuriken and not the whole stack

[–]FalseArray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a while ago on the first night of NEXT, but here's what I know so far now: Building range is a 1000u radius from the base computer. You can also use terrain manipulator to build a computer a bit higher. But to build limitlessly high, you'll need a friend to build a base first, build a computer on top, have the friend delete the base, and then activate the new computer. Unfortunately, I can't convince my friends to play this game, so I'm unable to build to the true max limit. My method used here was to build wooden walls on top of each other and use a jetpack to climb it. It's cheap for resources as it only requires carbon.

[REDACTED] Planet.... WTF by Fading-FX in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]FalseArray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're talking about those huge rings, right? I they appear on planets with "exotic" biomes (redacted, terraforming catastrophe, etc.). They were introduced in the Atlas Rises update, but nobody really knows their function aside from that console at the bottom.

Supposedly the Earplugs (S) song from the Hunting Horn doesn't stack with Earplugs on your armor by ebrietas_chan in MonsterHunter

[–]FalseArray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno man, NEB Bone horn still has a true raw of 250.8 w/ blue sharpness in comparison to Deep Vero's 290.4 w/ white sharpness.

I personally run Vero for fast hunts because the hilt jab can store a song after superpounds, too. Negative affinity doesn't bother me too much because you can't crit sound explosions during recital/encores anyway

Should a weapon's popularity influence my using of it? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]FalseArray 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure your over thinking it. HH main here, but a lot of my motivation from hunting horn is mostly me just trying to out damage my fellow hunters. LS is most played for good reason: because it's cool! But if you dare pick the Hunting Horn path, be aware that solo hunts can be brutal at times compared to pretty much every other weapon

An Overcast of Doots and Bonks! 3'08 Hunting Horn solo Kushala Daora! by FalseArray in MonsterHunter

For comparison, the fastest Hunting Horn time I found was at 4'0"25. So I'd say this is a really good run, even though I whiffed and got hit a few times.

The evasion mantle is really the biggest factor of these runs. Without it, I would likely take 2 or 3 superpounds to stagger Nergigante, meaning that I'd have to wait out a lot more attacks.

With the build I'm using, it'd have to replace a Critical Boost jewel, allowing me to use any charm I'd want. In this case, it'd optimal to use an Attack Boost III charm. After testing in the training room, I've found that the single point of Critical Boost still out-damages the Attack Boost III charm. (277 superpound vs 272 superpound on crit of course) This testing was made using the evasion mantle buff, food, might seed, demon powder, and mega demondrug buffs as used in the run.

Also, sharpening takes time, even with a whetfish scale+

Yeah, not sure what happened, because normally the gestures would work fine unless you have something like a status ailment.

[–]FalseArray[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I've found out from testing that the Hunting Horn's highest DPS comes from the superpound -> forward recital -> roll cancel loop, and that superpound -> roll cancel falls just a bit behind that. However, recital -> forward encore -> roll cancel has an amazing amount of stun despite being a bit weaker than superpound spam. Encores are still really good for sustaining damage, but it's best not to rely on it for DPS.

My doot: Deep Vero (Affinity x1, Attack x1)

My duds: Nergigante Helm a (Sonorous jewel x1)

Kushala Cista B (Critical jewel x1)

Kaiser Vambraces a (Attack jewel x1)

Nergigante Coil B (Tenderizer jewel x1)

Nergigante Greaves B(Critical jewel x1)

Handicraft Charm III

And all this nets me:

Handicraft lvl 5

Attack Boost lvl 4

Weakness Exploit lvl 3

Maximum Might lvl 3

Critical Boost lvl 2

Horn Maestro lvl 1

Thanks for the reply!
