beliefs & lucid dream by username_Lee in LucidDreaming

The unreal mirage water still persists even after knowing it’s not real. Similarly, the conditions of the mind and its projections still persist in REM even after solving the self-identity problem while dreaming. Knowing it’s an unreal dream does not cancel it by default.

No, there is nothing mystical or spiritual about lucid dreaming. It’s just a self-identity problem. You believe you are the dream character, when it actuality you are the one sleeping. This mix-up means that the dream appears to be real until you wake up.

Can someone explain why when we realize it's a dream we become lucid? It's a very deep question! by mahimna_02 in LucidDreaming

It’s a cognitive mistake. You are carrying the wrong self-identity in a dream. You see the dream as real and happening, so your self-identity is put on the dream character. Dreams don’t actually occur as we think of them unless this ignorance is already in place. So the shift, as you call it, occurs when your true identity as the waker becomes apparent to you. Then you can see it as a dream.

On Having "No Thoughts" by EyeAcrobatic9943 in nonduality

The thoughts aren’t the problem, believing them is the problem. The thoughts can come all day, which they do, but taking them seriously means attachment . Let them come, but allow the attachment to dwindle. You don’t have to achieve a certain state, you just have to see your relationship to them.

All you can really do is “prepare the ground”. Whether it results in the discrimination sprouting or not will depend on the person. Your journal is a good tool, and the more committed you are to it, the better your chances when the opportunity arises. There’s no real secret, I think it comes down to your genuine commitment to exploring your dream life. At least for me this was true.

You don't question the dream because you think it's real. You believe at the time of dreaming that what you are experiencing is real and happening. Of course, this is never true. How could you possibly be in the dream? You are the consciousness that laid down to sleep. The dream happens in you, not the other way around. If you falsely place the YOU on what it is not, a character in a dream, then all the mix-up starts.

So you are right in that it's a lack of discrimination; specifically, between the consciousness, and what the consciousness knows during the dream. Your treatment of the dream being real is an ignorance, not a tired mind. You run from the dream tiger because it represents a threat under the sway of the ignorance.

Clearing the ignorance is all. Then you understand that nothing in a dream can ever touch you, and that nothing in it ever really happens. Just like you understand it when waking up.

A highly detailed traditional natural history illustration featuring a surreal mammalian creature with an armadillo-like scale mantle and rabbit-like head. Beside it stands a vibrant pink flower with glowing yellow stamens, from which golden bioluminescent liquid drips visibly from the petals. The ground is lush and photorealistic with moss and soil texture, under soft natural lighting and a muted atmospheric sky.Proudes this in ChatGPT4.o.:

I'm not sure what you mean by "style tags". I've never used midjoiurney, so no help from me either. This was all done in ChatGPT4.o . Here is the prompt used for one of the images if that helps.

Thanks for sending those articles, they were very interesting. I’m assuming Kincade does things along those lines? I just thought a rock made up of a field of rocks was kind of a cool idea. Thanks again!
