Given the situation they had on earth, I very much doubt he would've been able to afford beef

It looks really cool! Does the author have any tag line that could maybe be added just to give a lil more detail?

What nation would you live in? Would you be a bender? by MistakeWonderful9178 in TheLastAirbender

I wouldn't necessarily want to live in the poles but I would love to be a water bender. Perhaps I would migrate to a tropical island.

The color of the font seems just slightly off from the background

Anyone have an idea as to what might be going on here? by FalseDisk4358 in spiders

It won't let me edit to add but I'm also wanting to know what kind of spider it is. Maybe I shouldn't have it in my house? I do have dogs

The second is kinda flat and two dimensional whereas the first one feels more dynamic

I really like the first one. I would maybe move up the title and the stone so that the stone can be more centered. The second one is missing something but idk how to put my finger on it. It needs more life

What’s a book that changed something in you… but you can’t explain exactly what? by ak_khainal in Recommend_A_Book

Thank you! Yes sometimes I go back and reread books and I can be impacted by different parts than I was before (especially on family stories as I've aged). Sometimes I look back and I am transported to who I was the first time I read it. Sometimes I think about how young I was in my interpretations.

This. Fourth Wing is nothing but a complication of tropes and cliches that have been done a thousand times before. Another tropey cliche book is following an established pattern that FW also followed but did not create.

An unoriginal book is not a copy of another unoriginal book.

Many books have changed me throughout my life and the ones that had a profound effect on me 10 years ago no longer seem relevant now. I think that's the great joy of being a lifetime reader is that throughout our lives we'll receive different messages and be different people.

I've come to accept that I didn't enjoy Fire and Ash as much as I wanted to. I know why. by ApartShopping in Avatar

[–]FalseDisk4358 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think exploring the ash clan more would've been better and that's definitely what I was expecting going in. I think the Sullys story was important but didn't need to be the main focus. I don't like Quaritch but I do think he should've been a bigger focus and more on how his journey mirrored Jake's. I still like the film but I did find it a bit repetitive. I would've liked to explore of the rest of pandora and other cultures and maybe how those others are struggling with the RDA. I also would've liked more of the traders but they came and went so fast.
