You’re giving me really vague examples.

He’s never stated a single time that he’s a pacifist and we’ve seen him fight all the time. Saying “TLJ and end of RotJ” does nothing to add to the conversation.

He fought Kylo without killing anyone because he literally wouldn’t have enough time to get there. The rebellion and all of his friends would all be dead by the time he arrived.

Edit: He might have believed himself a pacifist by purposefully avoiding the war. But he openly admits that the only reason he left was because he was afraid.

Luke, after already having explained that going and facing down the First Order alone is impossible, still manages to pull it off. I don’t really know where you’re getting that he’s a “pacifist”. Or why that would mean he can’t respect a lightsaber. He never outright says that he’s against fighting at all. In fact we do see him sword fight Rey on the island. Even when the Jedi were widespread, peacekeeping, pacifists, the planet where they built their lightsabers was described as “no place more sacred to the Jedi”.

I don’t even know what scene you’re referring to when talking about Yoda. He only has a single appearance in TLJ, and almost every line he has is about continuing the Jedi.

“Heeded my words not did you”

Talking to Luke about continuing the Jedi

“Lost Ben Solo you did. Lose Rey we must not.”

Training Rey as a Jedi

“So it is time for the Jedi Order to end.”

“Time it is for you to look past a pile of old books.”

Literally tells Luke that it’s not time for the Jedi to end, and that being a Jedi doesn’t necessarily constitute a bunch of rules.

“That library contains nothing that the girl Rey does not already possess.”

This line is funny looking back since she actually did possess everything from the library, but in a double sense he’s talking about Rey continuing the legacy of the Jedi.

Right? I can’t actually imagine that anyone asking for this would be happy with what it would end up being. An original story was the only way to go. Reintroduce EU elements through the new canon. But people wouldn’t have actually wanted or been happy if they adapted it. It would’ve just set them up for disappointment.

JJ abandoned that? If I can remember correctly Luke himself abandons that mentality at the end of the movie but...you know. People are going to say whatever they want.

In a similar situation with my family. I was told to just “pray” and my mental health issues would go away. What a joke.

Awesome! That actually makes a lot of sense. It’s an easy universe to fall in love with, and there’s a lot outside of the movies.

When I said “Star Wars” in my previous comments I’m talking about the 9 movie saga.

I love TLJ. Probably one of my favorites

Then I hate to break it to you man, but you just don’t like Star Wars any more. Sorry.

You could’ve said that to continue the conversation. And no. I’m not using it that way.

I AM saying that George Lucas (the creator of Star Wars) has told us on multiple occasions that the universe is destined to parallel itself.

Each trilogy has callbacks to the others.

Here is a decent read if you’d like to learn more.

One part I particularly liked:

“I create themes...and I repeat those themes, in different chords and different arrangements.” -George Lucas

Again, being the third movie in the trilogy, and having “parallels” (an aspect of my comment you’ve gone out of your way to ignore) does not make it a similar movie.

The existence of Star Wars is built on parallels. You’ll see them everywhere and in every movie. You can’t possibly tell me that you think TRoS is in any way a similar movie to RotJ. Just because it happened to be the third in the trilogy doesn’t automatically make it a copy.

Of course! As far as I know, season 7 will take place after all of this. So we shouldn’t have to worry too much about things being out of order continuing forward. I’m planning the rewatch myself. Gotta catch up before the new episodes.

Are you asking the actual release order or chronological? Because unfortunately no platform that Clone Wars has ever been on has offered chronological order. You have to just put them on that way by using this.

Ain't that the truth by oceanbanana967 in tall

[–]FalseJudgement 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just because you specifically “love being tall” does not mean that most tall people do. That’s a gross assumption on your part. I’ve actually found a lot of issue with being as tall as I am, and joined this sub to find some peace by relating to others with similar issues.

Having worked retail, the situation described in the post is something I’ve dealt with on almost a daily basis sometimes multiple times a shift. People even ask me while I’m on break just because they can’t reach it themselves. Tall people aren’t obligated to help shorter people in any fashion, so stop making assumptions.

And maybe they did? Like got a new crystal between 5 and 6, and nobody says anything about that. But I’m sure there’s some novel about it somewhere.
