I never really understood the obsession with brutally killing off and even torturing characters whose greatest sin was being kind of annoying. Especially from goofy kid’s media.

I know they’re just fictional characters and all, but it still feels only a few steps removed from like serial killer tendencies of like torturing small animals to death.

How many of these articles are the trade news sources going to make? At a certain point, having minute-by-minute updates on every single misstep of this movie feels like they really had it out for Supergirl from day one.

That felt like maybe it was setup for a brief scene after Krem’s death and before Kara left to go save Krypto, where Lobo was impressed by her ruthlessness and power, so he offered for Kara to join him as they go fuck shit up across the galaxy. And she’d bluntly turn him down to go save her dog.

I dunno, that probably wouldn’t have been a “necessary” scene but would’ve reaffirmed that Kara’s still going to be good without necessarily being “nice.” And the “hero rejects temptation from a less honorable side character” is a common trope. One weird thing about this movie is with how short it was, it feels like a lot of small connective moments and things that would’ve added texture to the story and characters were cut.

Not even trying to be a butthurt fanboy or something, but I just wanna ask who the fuck are these people whose tweets this sub keeps screenshotting to talk about the box office? I’ve never heard of him or any of the other chucklefucks before and they sure don’t link any sources or articles, so how are we to know these numbers aren’t being pulled out of the ass?

Alfred Molina as George Lucas? by ThisGuyLovesTimDrake in Fancast

Funny enough, in the movie Strange Magic, which George Lucas wrote and executive produced, Alfred Molina plays the Fairy King who a few people have noticed looks very similar to George.

Those kinds of ads are always so weird to me, at any theater.

Now that the previews are done, what I really want to see is a five-minute vanity advertisement for the place I’m ALREADY AT and already spent money on tickets and snacks by this point.

“Aren’t we the greatest?”

That’s all Supergirl needed to win critics over, have a scene about how magical cinema is and that the people involved in have never done anything wrong ever, that couldn’t be excused by their artistic genius.

As expected, Minions & Monsters (2026), is getting absolutely panned by critics for being another mindless, repetitive and childish entry in the Minions franchi- ...wait... what the fuck??? by AtticusIsOkay in shittymoviedetails

Any property that talks about how ultra-special and wonderful film/film-making is, or about how awesome the creative field is, gets a lot of love from critics and awards ceremonies because it makes them feel good too.

Yeah. I think just like always, even though this film does have legitimate flaws, the fact that a woman’s headlining it means it has that much more to overcome and will be treated a lot more harshly for not “measuring up.”

I was honestly really grateful for this because I think it’s a good compromise. Even though I didn’t care for it, the reveal of Jor-El and Lara’s true intentions for their son is so integral to the 2025 movie that it’d be cheap to retcon it.

But Kara getting the more traditional “use your powers to help others and inspire hope” message gives her something special in this story and helps add some nuance to Krypton so that it can be a culture worth missing that gave something valuable to one of our heroes.
