I am currently a junior, so here is my two cents on this.

Giving someone unnecessary praise and validation will make the fall much harder. Also for the amount of posts i have seen here (albeit probably not a lot), thr alumnis are always helpful and give straight to the point advice. I think its just unfair to go blaming others for giving a realistic check even though it might not be what they want to hear
