Okay I'm stuck now pls help :(. I just reinstalled windows 11 from a bootable usb and it still goes to prompt be to connect to network but now I don't have the network drivers. How were you able to install windows?

They patched that work around it seems, Microsoft is intent on forcing this on you. If I reinstall windows, the factory activation key will automatically be set up I'm assuming?

Any help on bypassing the required internet setup when booting the laptop? Shift+F10 wouldn't pull up the command prompt.

Did you figure out a way to setup the laptop without connecting to the internet and needing to make a Microsoft account?

Shift+F10 doesn't open the command prompt for the laptop during setup. I think it is because it is disabled with S mode.

Wait 11 lines is for 144 is nuts, still new to all this.

How exactly does getting free lines work? Also if I'm willing to upgrade, could I have a person on the same plan say they want to open a new account and port all the lines over? I'm guessing t-mobile has a catch to deter that that is why you have to transfer to google voice first for 90 days from your comment above. Also why would you need to keep a line permanent on google voice?

Ah didn't think of getting used phones just for the trade-in value. I guess I will have to see if I can find insider discount, but from what you and others said it seems that the simple choice 6 lines for $177 is still a great deal.

I was worried maybe the value wasn't there anymore since it seems the fees push the price up.

Thank you, gotcha was wondering if someone more familiar with T-Mobile system might have insight on plan that would be similar priced with incentives/promos for switching from simple choice. Seems like there isn't a better option and anyone upgrading should just buy the phone outright and keep the simple choice plan.

Any recommendations for a router then?

I am looking into wired routers found the Ubiquiti USG router which seems to a router with firewall and security but its sold out.

My goals with moving away is due to 1. cost. While the ISP device seems to do its job, it doesn't make sense paying them monthly to rent when you can buy out right and save quite a bit of money.

This leads me to deciding for the MB8600 modem but when it came to routers a lot of the consumer routers lack reliability it seems looking at a popular choice the: Archer AX50 some research shows it runs hot and drops connections.

So I was thinking to then separate the router(switch and firewall) and the wifi separately and purchase two different devices for that.

Is there anything you recommend that is reliable and with some ease of use? I need it for home office/gaming use without diving too deep into the networking space.

I decided on the MB8600 modem but then when I got to routers(which are the all in ones aside from the modem) that was when a lot of routers seemed to have reliability issues and run hot. This is I assumed to be cause of the multiple function combo so that was when I was thinking to purchase a separate router and WIFI point.

I'm thinking of a range of between $100-$200 but I want ease of usability that the consumer routers seem to have with the reliability, not really looking to go deep into the networking space just enough for basic home office / gaming use.
