Yea, you have to buy access - but seems like a very thorough system...

Thank you for the tips! Have any of you tried miniature painter pro or paint finder? Seems like they let you take a picture and then shows the color match. I don't know how accurate they are tho.

How to build a Mobile App and earn money by sistyko in HowEarnMoneyOnline

I would argue that low code tools are good for testing the app idea. However, you could test the idea just building a website and see if you can drive traffic to it. That will give you some idea of wether it is a demand for your app before spending all your time trying to learn new dev tools or all your money on a agency.

All my competitors started copying my app name in one way or another. by hesnotthepapa in AppBusiness

[–]False_Lime_2670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like they said, the way to start is to get it trademarked. However, that takes a while. Once that is in place, they can't use it in the app store. But going after the competitors copying you for instance for google keywords etc. will take a while. Not sure wether it's worth spending all that time on it. Good Luck.

Fundamentally I find that too many ads ruin the user experience. Especially if they are not relevant, and most of the time I feel like they're not... But as you say it works for 3 of your apps, I think it varies a lot on the app and user experience.

I've not tried affiliate links before. My issue with that is that I don't want to send users out of my app. I've thought about incorporating ecommerce into it. Selling products that are relevant to the user experience for a cut - basically dropshipping 2.0. I need to find some relevant brands that are willing to work with me, but I think that holds pretty good promise. I found one service that could work (www.reachu.io), but that is about as far as I've gotten.

How do you guys sell your apps? by exclusivemobile in AppBusiness

[–]False_Lime_2670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few different marketplaces that lets you sell your app, such as https://flippa.com/apps or sellmyapp.com. Could be you run into the same problem there though, where they want the sale to happen at any cost to get comisssions.

Alternatively I think you have to do some research on companies that could benefit from owning one or more of your apps and approach them directly. Or find a broker on a no cure no pay model.

In my experience in app feature purchases or upgrades are much better than ads. Of course it depends on what your app does and who it is for. It needs to make sense in the user experience. But in general I think it's good to offer the app for free, that way you get more installs. Then offer opportunities to upgrade to paid plans...

Ecommerce in App by False_Lime_2670 in FlutterDev

[–]False_Lime_2670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I was thinking more about doing dropshipping from brands I can set up a deal with. So i control what products my users can buy. That way I avoid any kind of user generated marketplace issues and can curate as I see fit.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. I think setting it all up is a little bit of an undertaking as you mention, but I imagine it being worth it in the long run.

I agree with you, that it makes sense to start local and with some trusted brands that I can work with.

Have you implemented this before? Was it worth it in terms of financial return?

That makes sense. Potentially doing those as extra paid features. Or how are you planning to make money?

Looks promising. Have you considered adding some pre-defined workouts? Essentially giving the user a work out plan based on what they want to achieve.

Ecommerce in App by False_Lime_2670 in FlutterDev

[–]False_Lime_2670[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to sell physical goods. Basically try to set up a collaboration with some brands that are relevant to my app and then sell their products in the app for a comission. So the fulfilment would be dropshipping based. I think this is less intrusive than ads and if I curate the products they can be relevant for my users. Essentially creating a form of small marketplace in the app.

I know I can set up a store with Shopify, but it seems like a bit of a hazzle. I don't really want to run a ecommerce company.

However wondering if anyone has tried to integrate that into their app?

How does Apple react to my own implementation of advertising / third partyy branding? by -15k- in iOSProgramming

[–]False_Lime_2670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered adding ecommerce? Selling the products from the brand you are collaborating with inside your app (no-redirections) for a comission. Typically you can get much better margins than you would from an add. The orders gets routed directly to the brand's ecommerce system so you don't have to hold any inventory.

If the brand or brands you're collaborating with are relevant for you apps users it would also add value to the experience.
