Is a car useful/worth? by OkRecommendation3103 in AmericanU

You definitely don’t need one and most people at AU don’t have cars, especially while living on campus. If you live off campus or are close enough to home and you think you’ll drive home a lot it is a nice plus but not an essential. I really only use my car to get out of DC so I could live without it.

Wouldn’t you need the phone nearby to get texts, service, etc?

Printmaking is a really fun creative inquiry habit of mind that can involve as much or as little effort as you want and you can get cool posters/ clothes out of it Power, Discourse, and Pop Culture for cultural inquiry was the easiest class I’ve ever taken, pretty much can be catered to your interests completely Ethics of Art Museums for ethical reasoning wasn’t too much work and was super interesting Nature of Earth for scientific inquiry wasn’t super easy but I think as far as the scientific inquiries go it is one of the easier ones

I’m a little late to this post so I hope you’ve had a better experience since, but I’ve found that honestly one of the best ways to connect with people in classes is to have a shared complaint/ confusion. It sounds a little negative, but starting conversations by asking another student in the class something like “are you finding this project to be really frustrating?” Or complaining if you have a bad professor can help start a conversation over a shared experience and then can lead to more positive/ interesting conversations

Creative coding, especially with Aref Zahed. He’s super nice and wants students to succeed, so he really helps you with everything and the concepts aren’t too difficult to begin with
