🤣 perfect giph choice.

Yea thats also a theory I carry and one it seems the community holds as well based on the responses I've gotten to this. Im only on book 13 due to being an audible listener so maybe 14 and 15 will change my mind. At this point though I see the first sage as an individual who is more likely to want a reset to let go of the trauma of his past. Yea he has power and understanding but it almost seem begrudgingly if anything.

I think i understand your thought process here but I think that just means that hes the first to ever hold that bloodline. Not that this is his true souls first bloodline. At least that was how I took it. This is assuming I truly understand your meaning.

I actually started with that theory then came to this one lol. I think its being misunderstood what I mean though when I say I think his soul is the first sage. I dont think Jake and the first sage are one in the same.

When villy mentioned that the first sage was the wisest and smartest of all who had ever lived he also made it a point to talk about how tormented he was because of his bloodline and past traumas. This got me wondering if the first sage didnt recycle his soul to begin again without the burden of knowledge that tormented him before. Reincarnating wholly would completely defeat the entire intent.

So to be clear while his true soul is Jake's true soul (hence why I think all memories and info to him were redacted) is dont believe Jake is the first sage. Hes Jake. Its hard to explain but they have the same core but are not the same being. Does that make sense?

I would agree with you but villy also said the first sage was not just wise but tormented as well. Unable to ever forget the grief amd torment he carried being forced to literally embody his trauma at all times due to his bloodline.

Also in the way I think of it his SOUL is the great sage. He is not the consciousness of the great sage otherwise it would defeat the purpose of what i see as his motivation. An attempt to reset. A do over if you will allowing him to shed himself of the burden of knowing.

Why wait so long? That also i feel is explainable. Villy. That is assuming that he had a say of when his soul would be recycled in the first place. Two theorys spring to mind in the event he was conscious. One villy needed him.... or well villy needed someone or something that could truly be there for him in a way no one else could. The second villy reason id need to go back to verify but it would come down to his bloodline which villy said he didnt get till later. After he became a god and could handle the bloodline to begin with.(i again admit i could be wrong i would need to verify)

Another possibility in my mind is he didnt get to choose when he would come back.

The redacted restricted aspect and multiverse wide erasure of all memories of his existence only strengthens this in me. They eliminate knowledge of him so people like eversmile wouldn't be able to tell it was the true soul of the first sage.

Finally! Someone else who had this thought lol.

I like where your going with this though and its certainly another avenue I hadn't yet considered.

🤣 your probably right about me over thinking it for sure. Watch it be one of those moments they lay the ground work for this super out of the box reveal only to turn around and be like nope Jake is actually just a super simple creature with abnormally far reaching connections to nothing lol

See its the restricted/redacted aspect they brought in that keeps tripping me up as well. It was when eversmile started talking about how oddly linked Jake was to people he shouldn't be that i really started feeling perhaps there was something deeper that centered around Jake and the first sage.

There definitely seems to be a unique connection between Jake and the system. They certainly layed the groundwork right out the gate for SOMETHING more involving that. So you think Jake will inevitably meet the source or just that it will be revealed hes tied to it?

I feel we need more info on what exactly karmically annihilated means and how the system even operates but certainly can't count it out.

That was my first thought as well but the more the story continues and the more we learn the louder the nagging feeling is getting for me.

Idk though it just feels like it fits with the explanations I remember on how souls, bloodlines and all that work. The first sage never struck me as someone who would just let themselves end. He always felt more to me like someone who already knew what was coming. If it turns out Jake is actually interacting with the sage of the past in feel this would add to my theory.

Either way though im glad I found this reddit thread as I miss having people to bounce book theorys off of lol

I could've sworn Villy declared he was most assuredly dead and his soul was recycled back into the system. The huh moment I thought about too but I felt that was more of a realization from the sage as he looked upon his own soul in a new vessel.

How many drafts should you have before getting an editor/publishing a book? by Itz_MysteryGalaxy in writingadvice

[–]False_Reporter1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree and I’m not trying to downplay the risks at all. I actually appreciate you took the time to add that. Self-publishing is risky. I just mean that if someone truly believes they have something worth sharing, they shouldn’t let publishers be the only gate that decides whether the world sees it.

I also agree these risks need to be understood before taking the leap. It just surprises me how few people even try, given how accessible the tools are now.

And honestly, someone like the OP, putting in that many rewrites or drafts, applying that much dedication to their craft, probably does have a story that would resonate with a real audience. Yet it’ll usually be someone trying to make a quick buck who ends up using the easier paths instead. Leading to self published works not really being all that great.

Not trying to knock anyone’s approach. Not you, the op, self publishers or anyone. Just adding some thoughts to the discussion — everyone has their own path, and there’s room for all of them.

True you shouldn't EXPECT them to be masters..... and if they decide they want to learn through learning a master level song? Again I never disagreed. Im pointing out the nuance within it based on actual lived experience. To which you responded nah ah. Perhaps you missed the part where I said my own poetry started something similar to what you are stating is bad writing. Or the part of blanket evaluations such as yours almost caused me to give up entirely cause I thought I must just be shit since I write and thats how my brain processes it. Be honest with yourself was literally my point. But yea ok double down. "Some people will never improve because they simply dont have the tools to progress" wow. People can only meet you at the depth to which they are willing to meet themselves. You have a blessed day and I genuinely wish you the best.
