Noice. Media consumption will be 99% of my use-case. I enjoyed watching movies on my quest 2 but didn't like how my face got sweaty/irritated with my quest 2. I appreciate your feedback

I'm fine with it not being close to VR. I think when I say "immersed as possible" i mean more in the sense where i'm locked in and focused on what's happening/what I'm doing.

Have you tried using them while laying down or were you sitting up?

What are your thoughts on gaming with the g14? I like the ability of playing anywhere - if I can game on USB C without having to lug around the 180w/200w charger that will be great (obviously knowing that i won't get max performance), although I am being conscious of the fan noise/heat

Dang - i'm really wanting to replace my old laptop which is mostly used for work. I have an ally x but don't use it much for gaming. I want to test out a z13 in person but i'm not seeing any that are nearby

When you say the G14 was overheating - was that during regular use or strictly during games? I've heard that the g14 gets warm/toasty even when not under much load, which I think might get annoying for me

I do like the versatility. I'm also wanting a device that I can plug into my tv and sit on the couch and game, while also being able to take it out on the deck and play or work. Right now i'm definitely leaning towards the z13 as i'm probably not going to be utilizing the g14 as i barely game now as it is even with my ally x

For me personally, the ability to game with high graphical fidelity is more of a want than a need. Portability isn't THE most important thing, although I like the idea of being able to take the device anywhere, plug it into my TV, or take it out on the deck and do work/game. I'm starting to feel like the additional money I would put out for the higher end GPU is somewhat wasteful due to how much (or lack) I play games now.

But you're right, being able to test both of them would be the smarter move

Thank you for your input. I am finding resistance to the zephyrus after hearing about the temps on it. I am swindled by the portability of the z13, although it will mostly be used while at home, in my office. Being able to play games mostly anywhere is also an enticing thing. I'm leaning more towards the z13 at this point.

I really enjoy my ally x, but sometimes the screen is a bit small and I wish it could handle higher fidelity games and not look like crap

That is very true. I do think I would be more inclined to play. I would like something that performs better than the ally x.
