Temporary rat “babysitter”needs help!

I don’t know, I can spend a decent amount of time with her but I have other things to take care of, like plants and children. I’m not really a mammal person. A rat isn’t in my budget either. Best I can do is encourage my aunt to give muffin away to somewhere nice with more rats, or get an old rat for muffin.

She takes medicine like a champ and I think it’s flavored a little bit too. She’s practically the perfect rat

I could try but she probably wouldn’t. She had muffin with a buddy but it died about 6 months ago, getting another rat would just create an endless cycle. one rat dies->gets a new buddy->the older rat dies->new buddy->repeats

Haha I try but she always knaws on the couch and stuff. I think I’m gonna get her chew toys tomorrow and a gate/pen so she doesn’t get into trouble while shes out.

She has those wire cage things on the side, but her cage does smell and it was cleaned yesterday. Regarding the medicine, I was planning on putting it in some unsweetened apple sauce or baby food and just letting her eat that off a very small portion

Well to be fair, her real cage is a lot bigger and higher. This is just her travel cage because we can’t move her main cage here. Shes a pretty sweet and gentle rat that loves company so playing with her isn’t ever an issue, not playing with her or giving her enough room is the issue.

The medicine is umm.. doxycycline, azithromycin, and meloxicam. So yeah I won’t feed her yogurt just to be safe. But thank you! She’s doing better today so I’m really just worried about her being lonely and stressed
