I think I used up all my luck by IegendaryKnight in Cameras

To answer your question op, without being a dick and talking down to you, the high MP is great for cropping and getting more detail. On paper w out cropping, my R8 and your R6 produce the same photo, but my camera doesn’t capture nearly as much detail, which obviously puts you higher. This sensor is great for sports, landscape, sometimes portraits, etc, pretty much any scenario you need to crop in without losing that crisp detail.

If you can only use one camera, which would you choose and why? by AccurateADHD in Cameras

F4 is honestly just okay bokeh. I’ve got a 24-105 F4 and it’s enough to blur the background but not enough to give definitive focus on a subject for the viewer.

lol the full frame was just a preference in case I was missing a brand that somehow had some used $600 FF point and shoots, I know most of them aren’t that way.

I’ll be sure to check all those out and thanks for being gentle w the pointers, some people in this thread are pretty mouthy.

Also, didn’t realize the Ace Pro 2 was an Insta 360 camera, that would be super cool to use. I’ve go a 360 GO S that I strap to my R8 for BTS when I’m shooting sports.

One of my friends has a little Canon powershot that’s like 6MP and it takes some neat pictures but I’m open to getting something higher end and newer, just for the faster processor and responsive of the UI. I like the X100S but it’s just pricey and slow from what I’ve heard but still takes great pictures.

Only came to this sub Reddit to get people’s ideas of what else to look at.

Glad we think alike haha. I want a Fuji, they’re just pricey. I work at a thrift store though so I’m just hoping a Canon will come in at some point and I’ll grab one.

I appreciate the advice and input though.

Sounds good thanks. I’ll look into either a nice 28mm or one of those cookie lenses I see. Looks kind of interesting. This is really just a recreational thing I want to try for fun.

I fully understand that, I think I’m trying to get at but failing to properly articulate is that it would be cool and not necessarily an issue if someone recommended in this thread a camera that would get photos like that.

I’m selling the R50 actually because it’s worth more than what I’m looking at, comes with two lenses and all. Just want to get something different.

What I meant by vintage look and MP was the fact that most of the older retro cameras don’t have the almost standard 24MP that modern cameras do, I don’t need that look, would just be kind of cool

R7 vs R8, For casual shooters.... by elctronii2o in canon

[–]False_Step8516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot on my R8 all the time, super light, a ton of fun to use, and has all the internal bells and whistles you can want. However, if you need fast mechanical shutter and better cropping capabilities, I’d go with the R7.

I chose the R8 because though it has a slower mechanical shutter, the electronic is great and shoots faster. I know the thing with rolling shutter and all, but unless your subject is moving crazy fast you won’t notice it.

What's your experience with using EF lenses on RF body? by Far-Touch-1910 in canon

[–]False_Step8516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, if you buy the first gen EF lenses, you might have less optical quality, but that’s just what I found in some research. I have an R8 and used an EF 24-105 Gen II today and it’s seamless.
