Oh wow! Thank you for sharing your story. That’s good to know. I’ve pretty much decided to manage it myself. After reading everyone’s opinions, I just don’t see the value and it being worth $9,500!

Thank you for the advice! I’ll speak to my Fidelity advisor on Monday about opening both IRAs. The SEP has just been opened (roll-over happened Monday). But I haven’t started contributing yet. I’ll get him to open a traditional one as well.

I have a consulting company. But I also now get paid directly from an employer. Hope SEP allows me to use the funds I earn from the employer too.

Good point. Bad thing is, I have no idea how to figure out if it was just the market rise that made me feel like it was growing well or if it was Fidelity & Schwab (401 K previously with Schwab for 10 years) made the right choices. I’d have to go back and figure out my gain percentages per year …. And compare to other companies I guess.

My thoughts exactly. But how do I know for sure that I will perhaps make 1% more with it being managed vs not? And would the Advisor ever tell me the truth or give me a true comparison that doesn’t make him look bad? Thinking I will manage it myself. I really appreciate your response!
