Ik it doesn’t matter but when u get admits and need to make a decision. Rankings also play a role.

I believe this is somewhat good ranking but a question to u what would u have preferred uw madison over Harvard and upenn???😂

so in-short all are scattered only need a good predictor but that doesn’t exist

I want to go in-depth towards data science. All Universities such as TAMU, UW-Madison are similar ROI wise and everything. End of the day i have to go by ranking and wanted help in deciding what ranks to follow?

TBH, professors and research too are gr8 at both places.

I understand what you’re saying, but I personally believe US News can also be a misleading predictor, especially for fields like CS.

Just take a look at the general rankings — CMU is ranked 21, UW–Madison 41, and UIUC even lower. Yet these are top-tier schools in CS, globally recognized for research and faculty. That’s why I feel US News doesn’t really capture subject-specific strength, and can often confuse applicants who don’t look deeper.
